The photo below shows the top of Cleopatra's Needle, an ancient obelisk brought from Egypt to Central Park in New York.
We see a large purple orb next to the obelisk. We also see some strange winged thing floating about.
On the same night I photographed another winged thing floating next to this same obelisk.
Of course, it is possible that we are merely seeing insects here (although the big purple orb cannot be an insect). I think it is curious, though, that I have taken thousands of night photos at many different places, and my photos have only shown luminous-looking winged things near this ancient obelisk.
There was no fog, mist, rain, or precipitation on this night. The air
quality listed on airnow.gov was "good," with a rating of 24 (anything
below 50 is considered good).
