The photo below shows Fifth Avenue in New York City. We see dozens of orbs above the buildings, but virtually none in the lower part of the photo. That indicates we are seeing something up in the sky, not something that was near the camera.
There was no fog, mist, rain, or precipitation on this night with very clean air. The air quality listed on airnow.gov was "good," with a rating of 21 (anything below 50 is considered good).
