A Speeding Orange Orb

Photo date: October 21, 2015. Photographer: Mark Mahin.

The photo below was taken of a featureless indoor wall in New York City.  We see an orange orb that seems to have been moving very fast. We see the photographic effect known as ghosting, in which the camera catches multiple positions of a fast-moving object. Since the effective shutter speed of the camera was about 1/1000 of a second, the object was probably moving very fast.  There has been no color adjustment of this photo. The photo has been cropped from a larger photo showing all details clear and sharp.

A few minutes earlier, I got a photo of another orange orb, which appeared next to a white orb (something far more common).

See this link to see a video of 88 speeding orbs.
