Red Orb Is a Sky Puzzle

The photo below shows the two towers of the Time Warner Center in New York City. Above the two buildings we see a strange red orb that seems to be rising in the sky.
On the same night I photographed the orbs below. The one on the left is the moon.
There was no rain, fog, mist or precipitation on this night. The air
quality listed on airnow.gov was "good," with a rating of 35 (anything
below 50 is considered good). The pollen count listed on pollen.com was
low, with a level of 0.9.
