Twisty Path of the Speeding Orb

Photo date: May 27, 2026. Photographer: Mark Mahin.

Below we see a mysterious orb I photographed indoors. The backdrop is a TV set that was turned off. We seem to see four position states of a speeding orb.  We are left with the impression of a remarkably twisty path of motion.

Wavy Orb Motion?

Photo date: June 14, 2020. Photographer: Mark Mahin.

Below we see what looks like an orb moving fast in a wavy motion.

Another "String of Pearls" Moving Orb

Photo date: November 26, 2016. Photographer: Mark Mahin.

The photo below shows a speeding orb I photographed indoors. We see the "string of pearls" effect I have photographed 49 times before, in which the camera has captured multiple position states of an object speeding very fast.

Wavy Wonders: The Undulating Orbs

The composite photo below shows various photos I have taken of mysterious undulating orbs -- orbs that appeared to be moving very fast in a wavy motion.  See here to see the original photos.

Undulating Orb in Grand Central

Photo date: August 1, 2016. Photographer: Mark Mahin.

The photo below shows (at its top) a moving orb I photographed in Grand Central Terminal in New York.

Below is a closeup.  We see an orb that seems to be speeding in a snake-like motion. I have 25 times previously photographed orbs moving in this kind of undulating, snake-like motion. You can see the examples here.

Bright Moving Orb Has a "String of Pearls" Look

Photo date: July 11, 2016. Photographer: Mark Mahin.

The photo below was taken at Grand Central Terminal in New York. At the top we see an astonishing anomaly.

Below is a closeup of the top of the photo. We see here the "string of pearls" effect I have seen in many other photos, in which we seem to see multiple position states of a moving orb, which together look like pearls on a necklace.

What we see here is certainly not any light on the ceiling of Grand Central Terminal, as there are no lights on its ceiling. It's also not a camera strap (I always photograph with my hand inside the loop of the camera strap,  and camera straps are almost never seen protruding from the top middle of photos). We see here two turns in a short space -- a kind of tight zig-zag motion of a type that neither birds nor insects nor natural particles ever make.

A Squiggly Orange-Pink Sky Orb

Photo date: June 4, 2016. Photographer: Mark Mahin.

The photo below shows an object photographed in the night sky. It seems to be an orb making an undulating, wavy motion.

Bright Pink Moving Orb Zig-Zags Dramatically

Photo date: December 28, 2015. Photographer: Mark Mahin.

The photo below was taken in Grand Central Terminal in New York, and is one of the most dramatic moving orb photos I have ever taken.

moving orb
We see five bright orb shapes that all are the same size and color.  What the camera seems to have captured is an undulating zig-zag motion of a single pink orb speeding very fast.

Below is a closeup. There is a hazy pink blur, a sign of very fast motion. The object seems to make not just one change in direction, but two changes of direction. Neither dust nor birds nor insects ever make this kind of undulating zig-zag motion in such a short space.

moving orb
What we see here is the same undulating orb motion that I have photographed in these 21 photos, and the same "string of pearls" effect I have photographed in these 24 photos.  See here for other cases of speeding pink orbs.

Below is the full original photo, which has been uploaded directly from the camera. Right-click to open the photo in a separate tab, to see it at higher resolution.

angel orb
A photo such as this is absolutely inexplicable through any natural explanation known to us. No one ever gets a photo like this through any natural phenomenon known to man.

A skeptic might try to explain this as a coincidental arrangement of pink dust particles (which would be ridiculous, since dust particles aren't pink). Let's consider the chance of that happening. Once you had 1 pink orb in what looks like a chain of 5 orbs, you would then need to have 4 matches, so that a "string of pearls" effect was created. Each of these matches occurring in the right place (at the end of the "string") would have a probability of only about 1 in 1000 (given the large photo area). The chance of any new "pearl" being added to the "string of pearls" would be less than 1 in 100,000, since you would also need to have not just that "1 in 1000" position match but also an exact match of size and color to add a new "pearl" to the "string of pearls." So the total chance of this "pink string of pearls" being created by a random combination of dust particles would be something like 1 in 100,000 to the fourth power,  which would be about 1 in 100,000,000,000,000,000,000.  It also wouldn't work to imagine a super-fast pink dust particle, because indoor dust particles only move at the very slow pace of 2 miles per hour, and don't make sharp zig-zag motions.

I have an extremely wide variety of orb photos on this site, but I would be quite happy to defend the proposition that orbs are a paranormal phenomenon that we can't explain through anything we understand, by using only the photo here as evidence.

Postscript: I may note that after taking this photo I took hundreds of other photos with this camera on this night, and this was the only one showing such an anomaly. The photo was taken with a Sony camera that has performed flawlessly for almost a year. When this particular camera photographs someone's flash camera firing, it produces a single-ball bluish-white look that looks nothing like what this photo shows. An example is below. Such a thing doesn't even look like the blue orbs I photograph, as you see lots of rays radiating outward (which I don't see in the blue orbs I photograph at this location).

Moving Orb is a Wavy Wonder

Photo date: December 19, 2015. Photographer: Mark Mahin.

The photo below was taken in Grand Central Terminal in New York.  We a blue orb that seems to be moving very fast, in an undulating manner (as we also see in these 20 photos).  We also see the "string of pearls" effect shown in this series of photos, in which we see position states of a moving orb that resemble pearls on a pearl necklace.

Below is the larger photo from which this photo was cropped.

I get moving orbs in my photos very frequently at this location.

Weird Luminous Loop of a Blue Moving Orb

Photo date: December 2, 2015. Photographer: Mark Mahin.

The photo below was taken in Grand Central Terminal in New York,  We see a most spectacular example of a moving orb. This example shows what I call the "string of pearls" effect, where we see multiple position states of a moving orb, which end up looking rather like pearls on a pearl necklace. The same thing is shown in this series of 22 posts.

Moving Orb is a Wavy Wonder

Photo date: October 30, 2015. Photographer: Mark Mahin.

The photo below was taken at an indoor location in New York City. We see an orb that seems to be speeding very fast. Notice the lower half of this photo. We seem to see a wavy motion here, with two changes of direction in a very short space. It's the same kind of wavy undulation effect shown in these 18 photos.

One Orb Smiles, Another Orb Undulates

Photo date: October 23, 2015. Photographer: Mark Mahin.

The photo below was taken in Grand Central Terminal in New York, and shows the area above one of the big arches in the station.  We see two orbs. The top one seems to have a smiling face, perhaps one that is winking. The lower one seems to be moving in a wavy, undulating manner: up, then down, then up again.

See this link for 17 other photos of orbs that seem to be moving in an undulating manner. See this link for 141 photos of orbs in the air that seem to have faces (or check out this site which documents the same strange phenomenon).

Orb Undulating Motion

Photo date: October 21, 2015. Photographer: Mark Mahin.

The photo below was taken in Grand Central Terminal in New York.  We see two blue orbs. One seems to be moving very fast in an undulating, wavy motion. It seems to move up, then down, then up (the camera seems to have captured 5 position states of the speeding orb). This is an utterly anomalous motion of a type that neither dust nor birds nor insects can ever make in this short a space. See this link for 16 other examples of orbs moving in this type of wavy manner.

A Moving Orb in Two Consecutive Photos

Photo date: October 15, 2015. Photographer: Mark Mahin.

The photos below are consecutive photos taken in an indoor location in New York City, showing a featureless wall.  The first photo appears to show a fast-moving orb that seems to make two very sharp turns.

The next photo was taken directly after the one above.  In this photo we see even more dramatic motion. Not only does the orb appear to make an extremely sharp turn (of a type that dust and insects never make), but it also seems to move (in the lower part of the photo) in a wavy, undulating manner. We also see the orb "string of pearls" effect (as in these 16 other examples), where multiple position states of an orb appear like pearls on a necklace.

moving orb
See this link for 29 other photos of orbs making this type of sharp right-angle turn.   See this link for 14 photos of orbs making this type of undulating motion. See this link for some photos of orbs making double right-angle turns.

There were no insects observed when these photos were taken.

S Is For Supernatural?

Photo date: July 9, 2015. Photographer: Mark Mahin.

The following photo was taken in Grand Central Station in New York. We see what looks like an orb that is making an S-shaped motion at very high speeds. The camera seems to have captured multiple position states of a single hurtling object. This type of motion (within a short space) is unlike any type of motion that birds, dust, or insects ever make.  See my posts labeled "orb inexplicable motion" for many similar photos.

Speeding Orb or Orb Foursome?

Photo date: January 2, 2015.  Photographer: Mark Mahin.

Below is a photograph taken in Grand Central Station in New York.

Below is a photo cropped from the top left corner of this photo. We seem to see what could be a foursome of orbs -- but perhaps the camera captured different position states of a single orb moving very rapidly in an undulating manner.  I have several photos of orbs moving in such a manner, as you can see by looking at my posts labeled "air orb undulation."

Paranormal Patron?

Photo date: May 28, 2015. Photographer: Mark Mahin.

Orbs seems to love old places with lots of marble. I photograph tons of orbs at Grand Central Station, and I also get quite a few of them in the marble-rich environment of the main branch of the New York Public Library. Below is an orb that I photographed at that location. My camera seems to have caught an orb moving around at a fast speed, in an undulating motion.
