Stunning Accounts of the Orb Seers (Part 2)

 The near-death experience site ww.nderf.org now has a search feature allowing you to search for particular keywords in their collection of accounts. When I tried using the search page with a search phrase of "orb" I get these statements on the second page of results: 

Yolanda A.: "I then realized that I was watching myself die. I could see that I was an electric-blue, light orb with a tail of blue light."

Thomas D: "I walked through what seemed like a veil. I saw a sea of orbs with translucent bodies. I was standing on a stage and I looked down. I said, 'Hi' to all my family and friends that had passed the through the veil over the years."

Elena D.: "Conversations without words with creatures that resembled a cloud orb."

Sam P.: "There was one being who held an orb of what looked like liquid gold light that was dripping, and contained geometric patterns. The other beings were touching this orb and cleaning my body with it, while encouraging me, and commending me for the life that I had lived."

David H.: "I could not feel my shoulders or neck and realized that I did not have a body. I was an orb on a table and my face was like a round ball. In front of me was a man with black hair. He was dressed in a white, dress shirt with a long, black tie, and black pants accented with a gold, belt buckle. He looked at me for a few minutes and then said, 'You're not ready.' He used his right hand to push me back into my body."

Alma B.: "There was a huge Orb of The Glistening Eye of God that was hovering in front of me. It was so large and filled with the Light of diamonds and bright white."

Debra P. "I found myself at the ceiling of the intensive care unit room (ICU) I was in. I was looking down on my body, fully aware that I was an orb."

Joschua B: "Around me appeared other orbs of light. The orbs were other people who had passed away. We all glowed with different shades of light. Some were more pink, some were blue and I was yellow. I remember that all of our thoughts flowed into and out of each other simultaneously."

Shanna L.: "I don't recall being guided back to my physical body. I just remember opening the eyes to my physical body and seeing orbs of light floating all around me."

Cindy J.: "Then the movement stopped and I found myself standing very still in an ORB of white light, a circular space of light. This space was filled with about 15 Beings of white light. They were not material or recognizable in our sense of physical bodies, but I could recognize them clearly and could communicate without words."

Rachel R. "I then was greeted by 5-10 golden 'orbs,' which I felt I knew. It was like a reunion. I felt the most joy and ecstasy I had ever felt when they greeted me. I knew them within. One orb approached me and showed me that I was the same. When it combined with me, I realized that I was also a golden orb. I was then pulled back, even more quickly than I had gotten to this other world; I was back in my body."

• Sara J. "My husband and I see orbs and things around us so often I have stacked up hundreds of videos of proof....The orbs started happening two months after I was home from the ICU."
• Ruth P: "We had started the descent and I was idly looking out the window, sitting just behind the wing, when an orb appeared directly over the wing, about 20–30 feet from me. It was bigger than a soccer ball but not as big as two. It was silvery-gold, luminescent, with a shimmering circumference, yet somewhat transparent and blurry through the middle. It was the first orb I had seen with the naked eye. I have photographed literally thousands since then."
• Randy W.: "The following events happened before I was born. The memory started with my soul being a multicolored orb. I was with thousands of other orbs, all of us with constantly color-changing bodies."
• Gina L: "The Being of light stood directly opposite me. He bent down and picked up a glowing orb. It crackled and shone. The orb looked like burning fire, but warm with love and not with fire. He handed me the orb, and I accepted it. He moved his and my hands toward me, and the orb took its place inside me."
• Brandon D.: " There were countless orbs. And they were zipping around really fast and would appear and disappear in different places. I interpreted that as the souls' journeys."
• Cara C.: " It looked like a turquoise orb entering my chest and telling me that I was about to heal incredibly."
• Will S.: "Periodically, I was able to see out the left side of the tunnel. There were beautiful, mystical, and other-worldly pale pink, almost clear, orbs of light. They were traveling slowly in the opposite direction that I was traveling."
• Robert E: "To the left, I saw a pulsating orb with golden, white light emanating from it. To the front and right of me, I saw a mountainous valley filled with millions of people. All of them were bathed in the light from this orb. I said to myself, 'Am I dead.' A person behind me said, 'Yes, you are.' "
• Donne C. "Suddenly, my horizontally floating body morphed into what was an orb of white light that floated out of the house."
• Laura S.: "Other beings were there. It was like I knew these beings very well, but I cannot say who they were. The only word I can think of to describe them is 'mauve'. They were mauve orbs of mist. They took me before a table of other beings."
• George C.: "I vividly remember floating as though I had no body. I was like an orb of energy, floating over an extreme vast area of green rolling hills." 
• Angel G: "This is about my wife, Vera Gonzalez, who passed on May 7th, 2016, and the attending physician assistant/NP-C and I witnessed a light orb leave her body within minutes of dying. A concentrated white orb-light came out of her chest through the sternum, rose and hovered momentarily and then departed the room while accelerating. I thought I was imagining things until the physician assistant asked me if I saw the light. He said he had seen it before and that it was Vera's spirit. "

Near-Death Experiences May Sometimes Have Orbs, But More Commonly Have Telepathy

 A recent study on near-death experiences ("Architecture of Near-Death Experience Space")  has appeared in pre-print form. Its methodology seems rather objectionable. The authors were trying to be able to classify something like shapes or fields-of-view during near-death experiences. They have given 48 reporting near-death experiences some survey designed to elicit reports about shapes or fields-of-view. This seems like a case of asking leading questions designed to extract particular types of reports, which may be a flaw in methodology. 

But at least the study does have rather interesting quotes from those who had these experiences. One subject states, "I was standing in the middle of a 360 degree sphere with a white, milky border." Another subject (subject 38) reports this observation of orbs:

"I encountered floating spheres glowing blue and white. They were gently floating around me, fading in and out of view. They did not seem to be moving.”

The authors of the study seem to have made the mistake of trying to extract reports about shapes, fields of view or geometry from the people having the near-death experiences, rather than letting these people speak for themselves, and reporting on the most salient features of their reports.  The authors make no mention of one of the most common features of the reports they have received: the claim by a person that during his near-death experience there was telepathy going on. 

I will quote all of the subjects who referred to telepathy:

• Subject 3: "They were communicating with me through thoughts and feelings."
• Subject 6: "She was wearing a dress, with dark hair and we were having an ongoing conversation telepathically....I spoke telepathically with the two beings I met.... We interacted with each other via telepathy.”
• Subject 8: " I encountered (in my thoughts) a god-entity that I had a negotiation in my thoughts."
• Subject 10: "Messages are telepathic but so strong as if it's a voice, was very specific on some topics general on others."
• Subject 21: "The entity first appear as the perfect human as it came closer it kind of morphed a little bit more a light fluid being entity. . . telepathic communication with the being."
• Subject 24: " I heard my boyfriends thoughts saying 'what am I going to tell her family ' over and over again. and when I asked him about it days later he said yes he was thinking that. I was telepathic."
• Subject 26: "There was a telepathic communication with my angel that I was in a place of what would be where my spirit will first go after I leave my earthly body, it was telepathically said 'it wasn’t my time.' ”
• Subject 28: "I was in a room made of light with beings that were also made of light. We communicated telepathically, without words"
• Subject 35: "So I could read their mind and see their whole life story."
• Subject 39: "I also felt/sensed that I was in a telepathic communication like a negotiation of deciding to return."
• Subject 44: "I could hear him talk in my mind, telepathically.”

So of the people reporting near-death experiences,  11 out of 48 have described telepathy occurring, about 23%. But strangely the study authors have failed to mention telepathy as something commonly reported in the 48 experiences they were studying. 

Orbs in Some Near Death Experiences

 On the page here, we have a description of the near-death experience of Reinee Pasarow. She states this  happened after she had a severe injury:

"Then, just like that (clapping her hands), I became a ball of light or energy in the midst of this crowd that was circling a body. I became massively aware, unlike any awareness I had had during physical existence. I was not really aware of myself. I was aware of everyone around me. I was aware of my mother and my neighbors, and my friends and the firemen and what they were thinking and what they were feeling and what they were hoping and what they were praying. This was such a pummeling input of emotion and information that I was all at once overwhelmed and confused, and rather disoriented....And then I became aware that the thing on the sidewalk, that thing that suddenly became a piece of meat to me, was what I had identified as myself before, but had no connection with it other than that I had been with it for a very long time. But it had nothing to do with me because suddenly, I was more of a person than I had ever been before. I was more conscious than I could ever be. I was free of the limitations of being a physical being."

The rest of the experience is very involved, and it makes interesting reading. Another person (Juliet Nightingale) who had a near-death experience states this:

"Even though I was no longer in my physical body, I did have form – a body of sorts. The best way I can describe this is that I felt like a bubble – floating and moving about effortlessly – sometimes very fast … or gently drifting about."

In an interesting description of a near-death experience, Lou Famoso says he saw "five orbs of light."  It seems Lou later came to think of these as corresponding to five children he would eventually father. 

These accounts are on a site that has a long page entitled "Orbs and the Near-Death Experience."  We read, "Many near-death accounts describe encounters with orbs." We read this account by Chris Taylor:

"My first OBE was when I was about 20 years old and was in a cabin on a oil rig 100 miles off the coast of Scotland. I was aware of a spinning orb of red and yellow. I left my body and entered the orb. I watched myself struggling to call out to my mate. He was on the bottom bunk. I returned to my body and told no one of the experience for fear of ridicule."

Virginia Falce reported having an out-of-body experience as doctors were massaging her heart for three minutes, trying to revive her. She said this:

"I felt this absolute sense of love and peace embracing me, pulling me from somewhere. I looked over and could see it was coming from a glowing circle of light." 

Orb Guardian Angels?

In the video here, a photogenic young PhD candidate describes a near-death experience during a very severe medical problem. Around the 2:55 mark, she describes encountering three colored orbs that seemed to her like guardian angels, having colors of ruby, amethyst (purple) and emerald. It's quite an astonishing tale. 

Was She an Orb During Her Out-of-Body Experience?

In the book Astral Projection by Brad Steiger, we read an account sent to Brad by a woman who was given ether before her surgery. The woman said after hearing a strange noise, she "seemed to be bobbing like a balloon on a string." On page 42 she says this:

"This is the best comparison I can make: I was a shining balloon attached to my body by a silver string. I could see my body below me, and two interns still chattering about their plans for the evening."

The woman recalled seeing radiant beings in some beautiful place she thought was Heaven, and recalled being told that she could stay there for a while, but had to go back. Later she found herself "bobbing near the ceiling of a hospital room," before finally finding herself back in her body. 

The "string" referred to may have been the "silver cord" so often reported in out-of-body experiences. The works of Robert Crookall give many examples of people reporting during an out-of-body experience that there was a cord or string or rope-like thing connecting their body and their floating soul or soul-body. On the page here (page 138 of his book What Happens When You Die), Crookall lists more than 30 examples of people reporting such a string or cord or rope-like thing connecting the body and their floating soul or soul-body. 

An Out-of-Body Experience as an Orb?

 In the book "An Excursion Into the Paranormal" by George Karolyi, we read this on page 214: 

"As it appears from the reports of subjects, who claim to have had an out of body experience, the vehicle of the exteriorized consciousness may assume various forms. It can appear as an immaterial human form matching the physical body in every detail, or it may assume an ill-defined form resembling a ball of light, or it may not be any spatial entity at all." 

From Orb to Angel?

The 1874 book Dead and Gone by James Samuel Pollock (which you can read here) is a a book deserving much more attention than the very little attention it has received so far.  It is a book filled with accounts of paranormal experiences, such as apparition sightings, dreams that seemed to foretell death, and deathbed visions. In some of the accounts we hear of balls of light. On page 120 we read this:

"Shortly after, when the room was dark, she saw the light again. It appeared as a globe of white light, and gradually formed itself into an angel. Both Mr. and Mrs. B- saw this. Next day their baby died."

On the same page we read another account involving an orb:

"When he inquired of her the cause of her comfort, she said, ' Father, I have seen with my own eyes the things of which I doubted. My soul went forth from the body, and I saw the holy angels, and the souls of the blessed, and^the rewards of the just. I saw also my own body, with the eyes of my soul, lying pale and bloodless on the floor of my cell, as it were dried up and without juice.'  The abbot asked what appearance the soul had out of the body. She answered, 'The appearance of a ball of fire, like the moon, and able to see on all sides.'  She added, however, that when the soul, or an angel, manifests itself to men, it takes the lineaments of a body."

This account matches quite a few accounts of near-death experiences. In such accounts a person will often report floating out of his body, and being able to see in all directions rather than only in a single direction. On page 136 we read this:

"Miss A. M. K. is the youngest of three sisters, who lived in London in the year 1865. She had gone to rest one night, when she saw a blue globe of light in her room. She was greatly excited, and rushed at the light, when it disappeared."

On page 159 we read this:

"The man of God, Godric, saw, while he was praying, an intense light penetrating into the darkness of the night, and two walls of brightness reaching from earth to heaven. Between these walls angels, were flying up to heaven, bearing, with songs of joy, the soul of Abbot Robert, one on the right hand, the other on the left. The soul, as far as it could be seen, was like a globe of fire."

 On page 203 we read this:

"She observed that the room was lighted up. A little ball of light was floating about the room, and her father was outside the window, looking in upon her.... At the time of the vision her father had been dead a few months, and her infant only a few days."

Will You Find Yourself as an Orb When You Die?

I was recently reading a book entitled The Death Experience: What It Is Like When You Die by Alan Ross Hugenot. Near the end of the book there is a discussion of what you will experience when you die, drawn from sources such as near-death experiences. The author states this:

Most people remember their spiritual body as globular or round. Or a mist or smoke-like transparent vapor.

Orbs During Near-Death Experiences?

A web site on near-death experiences says, "Many near-death accounts describe encounters with orbs." The page gives quite a few examples. 

In his latest post Michael Prescott reviews a book on near-death experiences entitled "Near Death in the ICU." He says, "One common thread involves seeing a spiritual being (or more than one) in the form of a glowing point of light or a luminous orb."  He quotes a passage from the book discussing one person's near-death experience:

[Marlene] soon became distracted by the presence of a soft blue orb of light that came into view on the opposite side of the room. ... While the orb was slowly approaching, she noticed that the voices below [in the hospital] became thinner and more distant while the visual scene grew ever smaller and more remote, as if she were looking through the wrong end of a telescope. As the orb, about the size of a beach ball, came to rest in front of her, she felt overwhelmed with emotion and intense feelings of peace, love and complete safety.

I can't say I have ever had such a experience, but I have photographed more than 750 blue orbs, most of them at Grand Central Terminal. Below is another one I photographed on November 26, 2016.
