"Arch and Hole" Pattern Lasted Through 500+ Photos

I took the photos below while photographing only ordinary drops of pure, clean water falling in front of a black featureless background.  On this day (among other patterns) I got a strange "arch and hole" pattern that lasted through most of 500+ consecutive photos. The arch shape can be faintly seen to the left of the large hole in each orb. 

An "Arch" of Mysterious Sky Orbs

This photo was taken pointing up at the Empire State Building in New York. We see a bunch of orbs that seem to be forming a kind of arch shape. Almost all of these orbs appear in the sky (rather in front of the buildings), which is a very strong indication that we are not merely seeing particles near the camera (which would be scattered randomly around the picture area).

There was no fog, mist, rain or precipitation on this night.  The air quality was moderate, with a level of 60, almost good enough to qualify as "good."  The pollen count listed on www.pollen.com was good, with a very low level of only 0.5. 

An Arch of 8 Mysterious Orbs

Below is a photo taken in Grand Central Station in New York  We see an arch of 8 mysterious orbs, one of which is a rare purple orb.  These orbs did not appear in photos taken a few seconds before and after this photo. The ceiling of Grand Central Station has some nice art work, but these orbs are not part of it .
