We see below two orbs I photographed indoors. 

Today I was thinking of an interesting hypothetical explanation of orbs. Let us imagine some crustacean or octopus at the bottom of some pond or sea, not far from the shore.  Such creatures could never conceive of life on the land such as humans enjoy.  But humans could make little manifestations that a crustacean or octopus at the bottom of the water might notice. A human, for example, could drop pebbles in the sea that might sink down to the bottom of the water. To a crustacean or octopus, a pebble sinking down to the bottom of the water would be a strange anomaly it could not understand.

Just as humans can toss pebbles into the sea that sink to the bottom to puzzle creatures at the bottom, souls or spirits in some higher realm of existence might be able rather easily to make fleeting little manifestations in our earthly realm. One type of such manifestations might be orbs. It might be easy for such souls or spirits to make orbs that appear as fleeting blips in photos. An effort or energy a hundred  times greater might be required to produce an orb visible to the naked eye, such as are often reported; and an effort or energy 1000 times greater might be required to make something reported as an apparition or ghost.  In this analogy, humans are like the creatures at the bottom of the sea, receiving  occasional anomalies we do not understand from beings far more powerful, beings that may want to send signs of their existence. Of course, such ideas are speculation, and the causes of  photos like the ones above are still a mystery. But  the strong pattern repetition effect I have documented here may suggest some intelligent agency at work, with much more pattern repetition than we would expect by chance. 

A Striped Orb

Below we see a mysterious orb I photographed indoors. This is the first clearly striped orb I have got in a long time. Years ago I used to get mysterious striped orbs in amazing numbers. There is an interesting difference in color here: purple above the stripe, and blue below it.

Baffling Belly

The photo below (taken in Grand Central Terminal) shows a blue striped orb that appeared in front of someone's chest.  Were it not for the fact that I have taken 400+ photos of mysterious striped orbs (and 1100+ photos of mysterious blue orbs), I might assume that this was just some strange attire the person was wearing.

The Letter "Y" in a Mysterious Orb

The photo below shows a mysterious orb I photographed in Grand Central Terminal in New York. We see the letter "Y" inside the orb.

This is the first time I have got the letter "Y" inside a mysterious orb, although I have 8 previous times got an upside-down "Y" inside a mysterious orb I photographed, as shown here.

Postscript: The next day another "Y" appeared in a mysterious orb I photographed, but the orb was on the upper edge of the photo, and so the photo only shows part of the orb.

The Striped Orbs Both Aligned

The photos below show mysterious orbs I photographed at Grand Central Terminal in New York. We see three similarities in the two photos:

(1) Both orbs appeared in front of one of the ornamental windows high up at the station.
(2) Both orbs have straight stripes stretching from one side of the orb to the other.
(3) Both orbs are neatly aligned to a structural line in the station, something I have seen hundreds of times in photos I have taken at this location (as shown here).

These two are the 24th and 25th examples I have seen of what I call the "corner chord" pattern, one of 24 recurring patterns I have noticed in mysterious orbs I have photographed.  The post here has photographic examples of all of these patterns, which are summarized in the grid below.

Edge Enigmas

The photos below show two mysterious orbs I photographed at Grand Central Terminal in New York. The top orb has a strange stripe. Note how both of the orbs are aligned to the edge of one of the windows at the station. I have taken hundreds of photos of mysterious orbs aligning to structural lines and edges at this location.

The Mysterious Orb's "Hockey Stick"

The photo below shows a mysterious orb I photographed in Grand Central Terminal in New York. We see inside the orb a stripe resembling a hockey stick. This is the sixth mysterious orb I have photographed with such a "hockey stick" stripe.
