The Strangest Smiles

The photo below was taken while photographing nothing but ordinary drops of pure, clean water falling against a dark featureless background. We see another example of the strange, strange water face effect I have observed regularly in water drop photos since October 2014.

The Fast Orbs and the "Big-Nosed" Orbs

The photos below were taken while photographing ordinary drops of pure, clean water falling against a dark featureless background. The first one shows some water drop orbs that seem to have rather large noses.  The orange one looks the cutest.  See here for 278 similar photos.

The second photo (from October 20, 2015) shows orbs speedier than the ones above. We see two water drops that both seem to have orbs spinning around at a very rapid pace. It's another example of the orb centrifuge effect shown in these 84 posts.

Double-Striped Water Orb Looks Patriotic

The photo below was taken while photographing ordinary drops of pure, clean water falling against a dark featureless background. We see at the top of the picture a very strange white orb that has two stripes: one blue and one red.  Very patriotic, but quite inexplicable.

These Orbs Are Cute Enough for Closeups

Here's the first closeup. We see a sun-like orb that has a kind of "lying at the beach and soaking up the rays" kind of look.

This other closeup shows what looks like a happy quartet.

Orange Smiley Spinner in a Water Drop

Orange Orb Nuzzles Sun-like Orb

The photo below was taken while photographing ordinary drops of pure, clean water falling against a dark featureless background.  We see a water drop that has quite a few orbs in it. One of those orbs is an orange orb, and next to it is an orb that looks like a sun. The orange orb has a kind of pleasant "warming your hands by the campfire" look.

Cheerful Despite the Stock Market Downturn

We see here a photo of a pure, clean water drop, one that was taken just after the close of the stock market. Despite the sharp plunge in the equities market on this day, the orbs in this water drop seem to be pretty cheerful.

I guess they didn't have any money invested in the stock market.

Puppy Face in the Water Drop?

The photo below was taken while photographing pure, clean water drops against a dark background. On the bottom left we see the type of 'orb face" I typically get when I take such photos, as documented in my 200+ photos labeled "water face effect."  The color of the orange orb is very hard to naturally explain.

But on the top right is a type of anomaly that I rarely see. At first it looks like some type of orb with a kind of hole in it. But when we take a closer look, we can see that one of the "holes" looks like something: a puppy or perhaps a bear cub.

Call it a cute conundrum.

Unusual "Equatorial" Orb Motion in a Water Drop

We see here a drop of pure, clean water. I have 67 photos on this blog showing orbs seeming to spin around rapidly in water drops: my posts labeled "orb centrifuge effect." But those almost always show a kind of clockwise motion (or counter-clockwise motion). This photo shows a different type of motion: a motion around the "equator" of a water drop. This orange guy is kind of like some freaky Halloween pumpkin who spins around in a circle to liven up your Halloween.

Anomalous Azure: Blue Orb Crescents

The photo below was taken while I photographed drops of pure, clean water falling against a dark background. We see the mysterious things I call orb crescents, which I have shown in 25 photos on this blog : my posts labeled "orb crescent."  This time there's a new wrinkle: two of the inexplicable orb crescents are blue shaped. Notice also the orange shape at the bottom. It looks like an orange someone took a bite out of.
