Flying Insects Look Nothing Like Speeding Orbs

This site has more than 600 photos of speeding orbs, which you can see here (or click here or here to see grids of many speeding orbs).  There are various ways in which skeptics try to explain away such photos, but none of them are successful, for the reasons discussed here.  One particularly lame attempt to explain away photos of speeding orbs is to claim they are insects. This explanation doesn't work because insects don't move fast,  are not circular-shaped, are not bright, and don't have some of the colors seen in speeding orbs, such as pink and blue.  I've taken hundreds of photos of speeding orbs in Grand Central Terminal in New York, a place where I've only observed an insect one time in the many hours I've been there. Insects have wings you can see in the photos, and speeding orbs do not.

It is very hard for me to get a photograph of a flying insect, as I see them only rarely in New York City. But yesterday I got two flash photos of an insect in flight, shown below. As you can see, this looks nothing at all like speeding orbs.  See here and here for other photos of flying insects, which also look nothing like speeding orbs.

Moth and the Mystery Things

I took two of the photos below on June 21, 2017, and the other on June 15, 2017. The photo at the top right seems to be a moth. But what about the photo on the left? I suppose it could be a dragonfly, although I can never recall seeing one in New York City.  As for the photo at bottom (cropped from the left edge of a larger photo), it is very hard to explain, as it looks like no insect I know of.

The photo below (taken on August 20, 2016) shows a flying insect I photographed last night (apparently a moth).  As you can see, it looks nothing like a speeding orb.
