It is clear from the photos of this blog that I get circle-shaped anomalies. Last night I saw a different type of circle-shaped anomaly. It was a hair on the marble wall of my bathroom, at eye-level, which formed a circle shape. Now it is true that my head sometimes sheds a hair or two. But what is the chance of someone shedding a hair, and the hair ending up on the wall, at eye level, so that a circle is formed? Very, very low, it would seem.
The sight can be interpreted in an ominous manner. You could interpret this as an example of a mysterious writing on the wall, which has long signified an omen of doom, with this interpretation stemming from something reported in the biblical book of Daniel. The circle might symbolize the number 0, which could mean a number of time units remaining in my life -- maybe days, maybe weeks, maybe months. But it would probably be too gloomy to make such an interpretation, even though a zero shape did appear in a dream I had last night.
I wonder whether there is any connection between this strange circle on the wall and the very odd anomaly I recently reported of me noticing rubber bands on the floor (or on my hand) while having no explanation of how they appeared there. Such rubber bands also have a circle shape.

The Daily Mail site is an entertaining one, although we should sometimes takes its headlines "with a grain of salt." So maybe you should be a little skeptical about its headline today which proclaims this:
Pentagon baffled by 8,000 mysterious UFO orbs hovering over US military bases
We read this:
"Strange orbs have been documented all over the world, from Puerto Rico to the Middle East.
Moreover, these tiny craft have apparently been visiting our skies for decades, with pilots during World War II reporting similar orbs over the skies of Europe.
Enigma revealed that more than 360 'metallic orb' reports took place within a few miles of military bases here on US soil.
In three of those cases, witnesses revealed that the orbs got within five miles of Fort Hamilton in New York, Papago Military Reserve in Arizona, and Los Angeles Air Force Base on multiple occasions."

In the Oakland Tribune, Volume 117, Number 176, 25 June 1990, which you can read here, we have this account of an orb seen by many witnesses:
"In 1965, Michel Figuet, helmsman on the French submarine Junon, spotted a 'huge ball of light' making loops in the sky over Fort-de-France, Martinique. There were 300 witnesses, including six naval officers who watched the phenomenon through binoculars."
In another old newspaper account, which you can read here, we read of a seance in which a medium (Stewart Alexander) was tied to a chair inside a small enclosed area called a cabinet. Typically such a "cabinet" was merely a small corner of a room cordoned off with curtains. We read of the appearance of a mysterious ball of light, with someone claiming to see a face inside such an orb.

The web site The Hill is dedicated to reporting on what is going on at the centers of power in Washington, particularly Capitol Hill. This month the site had this large headline:
Mysterious 'Orbs' Demand Scientific Study
In the article we read this:
On July 24, the Senate confirmed former Air Force fighter pilot Matthew Lohmeier as the under secretary of the Air Force, the department’s second-highest civilian position. While in high school, Lohmeier had a remarkable UFO encounter.
According to Lohmeier, a “ball of light” descended upon him and a friend as they were in the wilderness outside of Tucson, Ariz. The object came so close that Lohmeier recalls that “it seemed to be buzzing with life, but it wasn’t man-made.”
“It was very well-organized, very spherical,” Lohmeier said, “and it seemed to be very conscious of the two of us that were sitting there in the Arizona mountains, like it was observing us … there was a level of interest from the orb to us.” Frightened, the two ran to their car. The object “zipped up and disappeared in the sky.”
Later in the article we read this:
Lohmeier is not the only Air Force fighter pilot left baffled by such an object. In a September appearance on Fox News, Trump stated that he interviewed several Air Force pilots who encountered spherical objects performing extraordinary maneuvers. According to Trump, the pilots told him, “All I know, sir, there was a round object that was going four times faster than my F-22.”
“Four or five guys [that] I’ve interviewed, solid people, great pilots for the U.S. Air Force,” Trump continued, have “seen things that they cannot explain, so there’s something.” Trump also told podcaster Joe Rogan that the pilots observed objects “like a round ball, but it wasn’t a comet or a meteor.”
Later in the article we read this:
Not only were observations of strange silver spheres widely reported in the media during World War II and afterwards, but the former director of the Pentagon’s UFO analysis office stated in a 2023 presentation to NASA that the military has tracked “metallic orbs” “all over the world” “making very interesting apparent maneuvers.
On the page here you can see two pages from a book in a series entitled "The Best of Ghosts Caught on Film." We see a striking image that looks like a luminous angel. We read this: ""Evidently Silvio's mother had recently died, and whilst taking a walk in some unspecified woods he saw a luminous ball, photographed it and subsequently discovered the angelic form." We see a startling photo that I would reproduce here, except that my long-standing policy on this blog is to only publish photos I took myself. But you can see photo using the link here.
In the Santa Cruz Sentinel, Volume 148, Number 305, 31 October 2004, which you can read here, we have an article quoting Dave Oester, who with his wife Sharon Gill founded an organization called the International Ghost Hunters Society. Referring to Oester, the article states this: "Most ghosts look like a ball of light or a misty vapor, he says, not a floating bedsheet or transparent human form."
Looking elsewhere for the phrase "ball of light" in old newspaper stories, I found an account that we might call "Saved by a Mysterious Orb." It is an account of the prevention of a head-on collision of two trains, averted by a mysterious ball of light. The account in the San Luis Obispo Daily Telegram, Number 163, 4 September 1913 can be read here. It begins like this:

A few minutes ago I had a strange experience involving a night eye shade, the one shown below, about as wide as my head:
Netflix has a series called "Unsolved Mysteries" which seems separate from the long-running series hosted by Robert Stack many years ago. In Episode 5 of the third volume (v3, #5), at around the 16:53 mark, we hear some investigator say this:
"When you hear the word 'paranormal' one of the common phenomena is what people refer to as 'an orb.' And orbs come in all different shapes, and size, and colors, and behaviors, They operate at speeds and angles we couldn't even hope to duplicate."
We then hear an account by an anonymous witness who talks to the camera. She says she was driving home from work at night, and saw a red light that seemed to follow her (she later describes it as a red ball). She says shortly thereafter it was a "big ball" and a "bright white light." She says the light followed her at a close distance, before rising straight up into the sky, becoming like a shooting star.
We have an even more interesting account around the 33:22 mark, where we hear of some spooky activity. We hear two named witnesses describe a case of coins seeming to fall "out of nowhere," landing on the floor. One investigator says there were 65 coins that mysteriously appeared, all landing heads up. I am inclined to believe the strange account, having had some incredibly strange experiences involving coins, such as a coin rolling up from behind me, on its edge, when I was alone in an apartment (just after having finished double-checking that all coins in the apartment had been put away, because I was trying to systematically study what seemed like a phenomenon of mysterious coin appearances that I was experiencing). My description of this experience is in my "Spookiest Observations" post here, which includes other accounts as interesting.
In the Netflix show the two describing what went on never use the term "apports," although that is the term used in parapsychology for reports of mysterious inexplicable appearances of objects.
A few days ago I observed something very strange. The back window of where I sleep has heavy curtains, which I keep closed all day long, there being no view outside, except the view of an empty lot. When I went to bed the whole window was blocked by the curtains. But in the middle of the night I saw that the curtains were open 2 or 3 inches, in the middle. I cannot explain how this happened. There may be some "let the light in" symbolism involved.
Today I was busily at work on a blog post when I heard a very distinctive "click" sound coming from the same bedroom or its bathroom. I thought to myself "I should investigate that" but continued my work. About an hour later I went into the bathroom and tried to turn on the light. I found that the circuit breaker switch had been turned off in the bathroom. No one had been in the bathroom during the past 90 minutes. When the bathroom is in the state it was in, steam-free and with no electrical cords plugged in, the circuit breaker switch can be turned off only by pressing the button next to the green light shown below, which makes a "click" sound just like the one I heard. It was just as if some invisible force or invisible presence had pressed the button.

Similar to the account I published a few days ago is the 1890 account here that you can read using this link.
At the site Stan Gordon's UFO Anomalies Zone, which you can access here, we have this recent account from an eyewitness:
"I was going out to my garden to do a bit of weeding. Rain earlier had softened up the ground which made it easier to pull them out. I was about half-way to the garden when I saw a glowing ball of light about five feet above my sidewalk blocking my way. I stopped and it began moving slowly directly toward me. I was somewhat afraid of it but hey, this is my yard, and I was not about to be intimidated so I stood still and watched as it approached. It stopped about two inches away. Then it moved closer and actually touched me. It started to push, and I began to back up a bit. It was then I fell backwards and landed on my back side. The ball raised up above me, floated there for a couple seconds then vanished. I don’t know if it flew off or just disappeared, either way it suddenly just wasn’t there anymore."
On the same page we read Stan Gordon say this:
"Over the years, I have received information from widespread areas on cases concerning observations of these smaller spherical objects on the ground or just above the ground. I was aware of these cases in the 1960s and have referred to them as mini-UFOs. Today they are being referred to as orbs or balls of light. These objects range in size from a few inches to about a foot or two in diameter. They are often described as the size of golf balls, baseballs, or basketball size.
While often spherical, other configurations have been reported. These objects often are light sources of assorted colors. They sometimes look solid, while in other cases they look transparent or translucent. There have also been some reports of a swirling mass inside of the spheres.
There have been encounters with these objects pacing vehicles and entering them through open windows. There have been other cases of these objects also entering homes through open windows or hovering in front of windows and even tapping on the panes. In more recent years, I have reports of these mystery orbs appearing inside of homes and only a feet away from witnesses. Various physiological effects have been reported in some cases. I have been of the opinion for a long time that this is one of the most important aspects of the UFO/UAP mystery that has been somewhat overlooked."
Yesterday I unexpectedly saw on the coffee table in front of me a strip of paper stating something like "This book was written by my grandfather." It was a strip of paper I had long ago affixed to a small volume written by my late grandfather. I had put it there so that if the volume was discovered after my death, my family might remember to keep the volume or read the volume. The volume was stored behind a cabinet door about two meters from the coffee table. I saw another family member doing a little tidying up near where the volume was stored, but I did not see the cabinet door being opened; and I can think of no reason why anyone would have moved the piece of paper from its location affixed to the book behind the cabinet door to the coffee table in front of me.
Trying to explain this in a paranormal way, you might explain it as a kind of suggestion from my late grandfather, a suggestion to read his book.
Something else involving what seemed like an inexplicable displacement went on in the middle of the night, also with what seemed like a connection to a deceased family member. But for a private reason I will not describe what occurred.
Postscript: Today I picked up the book written by my grandfather, and read one of his stories, a whimsical tale about a doctor who dies and goes to Heaven. The doctor is dismayed that everyone in Heaven is healthy and pain-free, and feels that this leaves him with no doctor work to do. He decides his skills would best be used elsewhere, so he journeys to a kind of Hades where there's significant suffering for him to alleviate. Eventually in the story the doctor goes back to Heaven.
In the 1899 news article that you can read here, we have the following account suggesting the unexpected appearance of a ghost in a photo.
