Below are some photos I previously took of mysterious red orbs in the sky. All of the photos were taken in clean, dry air when there was no fog, mist, rain or precipitation.

My photo below was taken shortly before sunrise. We see some white spots, some of which are probably Mars, Jupiter, or Venus (judging from news stories about the early morning visibility of these planets). High above these planets, we see a mysterious red orb.
