Mysterious Red Orb Upstages the Planets

The photo below was taken shortly before sunrise. We see some white spots, some of which are probably Mars, Jupiter,  or Venus (judging from news stories about the early morning visibility of these planets).  High above these planets, we see a mysterious red orb.

There was no rain, fog, mist or precipitation on this night with very clean air. The air quality listed on airnow.gov was "good," with a rating of 24 (anything below 50 is considered good).
