Baffling Orb Veils Don't Have Shadows

Photo date: November 19, 2015. Photographer: Mark Mahin.

The photo below was taken while photographing ordinary drops of pure, clean water falling against a dark featureless background.  We see two of the mysterious objects I call orb veils.  One of the strangest aspects of these things is their tendency to appear in congruent stacks, with one orb veil above another orb veil with the same shape (as shown in these 34 photos). We see such a stack here, with two orb veils with the same shape next to each other.  The water drops in the photo are casting shadows, but as usual, I see no sign that the orb veils are casting a shadow.  These orb veils appeared with an apparent height of about 6 inches.

These orb veils have an appearance closely resembling the "typical orb veil" depicted in my previously published diagram (reproduced below). If you look closely you can see the concentric rings near the top.
