Mysterious Membrane of an Orange Orb Veil

Photo date: November 18, 2015. Photographer: Mark Mahin.

The photo below was taken while photographing ordinary drops of pure, clean water falling against a dark featureless background.  We see one of the mysterious objects I call an orb veil. This one had an apparent width of about 5 inches. If you look closely at the outer edges of the object, you can see a kind of membrane resembling the membrane of a cell. This characteristic of orb veils is shown in each of this series of 11 posts, each of which shows an orb veil with an outer "membrane."

In the middle of the photo we see two of the mysterious objects I call orb rings, which are shown in this series of 19 posts.

The outer "membrane" often seen in these orb veils resembles the outer rings of orbs, shown in this series of posts.
