Orbs Bedeck the Sky

The photo below shows a sky in New York City that had many an orb in it. None of these objects was the moon, which was only the thinnest crescent on this night.

 On the same night, I photographed this purple orb above the same building.

There was no rain, fog, mist or precipitation on this night. The air quality listed on airnow.gov was "good," with a rating of 31 (anything below 50 is considered good).
