The following photo shows two purple orbs in the sky, on a night on which the moon was only the thinnest of crescents.
At the same time and place I photographed this brighter purple orb.
There was no rain, fog, mist or precipitation on this night. The air quality listed on airnow.gov was "good," with a rating of 31.
