Split-Aura Orb Looms Large in the Sky

 The photo below shows a mysterious orb in the sky, on a night when the moon was only a very thin crescent moon.

A closeup of the orb shows the "split aura" effect often seen in orbs. One half of the orb's aura is purple, and the other half is orange.

There was no rain, fog, mist or precipitation on this night. The air quality listed on airnow.gov was "good," with a rating of 29 (anything below 50 is considered good).
