Smiling Orb Speeder in Grand Central Station

Besides an apparent face, we see here motion blur that is a sign of very rapid movement, movement much faster than that of an insect. You can find many other similar examples of moving orbs on this site by selecting the label "speeding air orb."

A Yellow Air Orb

Here is a simple example of a yellow air orb. I have seen numerous yellow orbs in my photos of walls. I have also photographed air orbs with solid colors of white, blue, green, purple, pink, and orange. These are mostly the colors I would not expect to get if air orbs were dust. Except for one time I deliberately photographed cocoa dust, I never get the orb colors I would expect to get if orbs are dust: brown and gray.
Dust level: 150/5, Fair. Nearby reflective surfaces: none. No orbs shown in photos taken at same location from same angle soon
before and soon after this photo was taken, which argues against any
dust explanation.
Here is a simple example of a yellow air orb. I have seen numerous yellow orbs in my photos of walls. Almost all of the orbs I photograph in Grand Central Station in New York are blue or white. But in this photo I got something very rare: a dramatic bright pink orb. We see motion blur that is a sign of rapid motion. A feminine spirit, perhaps?

Grand Central Station Orb Too Big to Be Dust

In this photo taken from a balcony at Grand Central Station (where there was only clean air in front of me), we see a large orb at the top right. According to the "orb zone" theory that orbs are just dust, orbs can't be bigger than about 10 percent of the photo size. In this case, the orb is 325 pixels high in a photo with a height of 1944 pixels, meaning that it is 17% of the photo height -- in other words, too big to be dust. No such orb was seen in photos taken before and after this photo, meaning it was not any type of lens smudge.
