In Andrea Corsick's photo here (which requires a Facebook login), we see an orb with colorful stripes and an outer "membrane." On this site I've published hundreds of photos of striped orbs, and 100+ photos of orbs with such an outer "membrane," which I usually call an outer ring.
Also on Facebook is a new photo by Diana Davatgar that shows an orb that looks like the speeding orbs I so often show on this site.
This "outer membrane" in on orb also appears in this photo on Flickr (which doesn't require a login).
