Yellow Sky Orbs: A Retrospective (Part 1)

 Below are some photos I previously took of mysterious yellow orbs in the sky. All of the photos were taken in clean, dry air when there was no fog, mist, rain or precipitation. None of the objects photographed was the moon or the moon.

The Veil Keeps Getting Pierced

 In a recent scientific paper behind a paywall, we read the following:

"The present, brief report is a post hoc analysis of previously unanalyzed items from two studies of bereaved individuals. One study focused on loss following the death of a romantic partner (n = 268) and the other following the death of a dog or cat (n = 199). Participants were asked to indicate whether they had dreamed of the deceased or had a waking experience of seeing, hearing, or feeling the touch of the deceased in the prior month. Consistent with prior research, a substantial portion of each sample (50.7% of the partner loss participants and 32.2% of the pet loss) reported at least one waking experience of seeing, hearing, and/or feeling the deceased. When dreaming of the deceased and/or having a waking experience of the deceased were combined, it was found to be 82.5% for partner loss and 68.2% for pet loss."

800 Dreams I Had About the Deceased, Part 2

 I have been recording my dreams for four years, writing down any dream I remembered upon awaking. During that time I have had more than 500 dreams that seemed to suggest a motif of life after death. You can read about such dreams in my post here.

A Red-Orange-Green Orb

We see below a mysterious orb I photographed indoors. 

The color combination of green and orange is a very rare one, but one I have got a few times before, as you can see here. Here we actually have 3 colors, as the top left part is red, the top right part is orange, and the bottom part is green. 

Mystifying Morning

A few minutes ago I finished eating breakfast, and then noticed something very strange on the floor, a few inches in front of my feet, which I had not noticed while eating breakfast. It was a green pill, a type of medicine I take twice a day. There are two very hard-to-explain aspects of what I saw:

(1) The pill is a type of prescription medicine that I am extremely careful about using (I even record on a wall calendar every time I take the pill).  I always take only one pill out of the pill bottle I keep in the bathroom, and immediately swallow the pill, recording that act by making a mark on the calendar. I never leave a pill of this type lying around on a table or a couch. So for me to see one of those pills a few inches in front of my feet (on the floor) is totally unexpected, and very, very hard-to-explain. I had not yet taken the pill this morning. 

(2) I had breakfast alone on a couch, holding only a tablet device and a cereal bowl, without anything else to block my view, with a coffee table about two feet away from my knees. During the whole time I ate breakfast I should have seen the bright green pill if it had been where I found it, in a spot on the floor in front of my feet, where it was very plainly visible from the spot I had sat,  the pill being about 18 inches away, right in front of me. But I only noticed the pill after finishing breakfast. The floor in the room where I ate is hardwood, and a green pill on such a floor is very easy to see. 

It was rather as if at about the moment I finished breakfast the pill had been teleported to the location where I found it. 

Maybe the timing at the end of breakfast had some symbolic meaning. In English "breakfast" sounds like "break fast," so a symbolic warning about some part of the body breaking fast (i.e. malfunctioning soon) might occur exactly at the end or beginning of breakfast. But I admit such thoughts are highly speculative. 

Below we see what I saw when I noticed the pill. The top part of the photo is the bottom of my coffee table. 

Postscript (April 21):  About an hour ago (in the mid-afternoon) I went out for a walk, and after leaving the front yard of where I live, I looked back at the house where I live. I noticed the light above the front door was on. I had just locked that door, and do not remember turning the light on or seeing the light on (either when I left for my walk or when I got a package from the front door earlier that day). The light (shown below) is a strong light you cannot help notice when locking the door. Also the front gate was ajar. I always close it when leaving, to discourage dogs from entering. The house was empty, and no one else with a key was in the city, two of them being on a trip that will end tonight.  I've noticed a similar effect with the front door light several previous times.  The light above the door can only be turned on from the inside of the house, and the light is not one of those lights connected to a motion detector. 

You might suspect someone reporting things so strange as being a user of alcohol or drugs. But I'm a lifelong teetotaler non-drinker who has never used recreational or illegal drugs. I've never even tried any form of marijuana. 

There was one other spooky thing this afternoon. I went out to buy food, stopping on the way to photograph a particular set of tulips I saw on the street. As always when going to the food store I went to, I took a discount card specific to that store. When it came time to buy my food, I looked for my card, and it was missing. Upon returning back home I remembered how I had photographed the tulips, and I thought to myself: maybe my discount card had fallen out to the ground when I took out my cell phone to photograph the tulips. I walked out all the way back to the tulips, blocks away, to check this hypothesis. There was no discount card to be found where I had photographed the tulips. But very strangely I did find the plastic discount card lying on the other side of the street (a wide avenue). There was no strong wind that could explain such a thing, the wind being only about 8 miles per hour. 

It is possible to interpret each of these spooky events as having symbolic meaning. I have already mentioned the possible symbolism of something spooky at the exact end of breakfast. A light above me turning on mysteriously may symbolize some spiritual illumination that lies ahead. The open gate may symbolize the opening of a previously closed pathway. But what about the very strange event involving the discount card? Involving strangely finding the card on the other side of the street, this might be some symbolism suggesting the Other Side of an afterlife.  A previous spooky event seemed to have Other Side symbolism.

Post-postscript: There were several additional events involving the unexpected sighting of rubber bands, but I won't give exact details.

A Striped Orb

Call It an Orb Flicker?

 In the kitchen of where I live there are two ball-shaped lights hanging from the ceiling. Tonight I had these lights on as I was pouring some spaghetti into a drainer. In quick succession I noticed  what seemed to be two flickers of the lights behind me. By the time I turned around, there was nothing more to see. The weather was clear, and it certainly was not any lightning. 

From Shining Orb to Human Form?

On the front page of the San Jose Herald, Volume XXXII, Number 13, 17 July 1882, which you can read here, we have a newspaper article entitled "The Process of Death." It was very widely reported in the nineteenth century that people being hypnotized would develop clairvoyance, and that is part of the account (the reference to "mesmerism" is a reference to hypnotism). We read this:

 "A complete description of the spirit's departure from the body was recently given by Kyra Carpenter in a letter to Mr. Joseph Baker. She was treated by mesmerism for epileptic fits, and soon became a good clairvoyant, and eventually a seer of spirits.

 'My mother and I had often talked of death and immortality. She frequently magnetized [hypnotized] me when she was in health, and I was in the clairvoyant state, by her assistance, when the spiritual sight was first given me. By your assistance (Baker's) I acquired the power of putting myself in that state without the assistance of an operator [hypnotist]. She had often requested that I would, at the time of her decease, put myself in that state, and carefully notice the departure of the spirit from the body. Her failing health admonished her that her end for this life was near, but she viewed it with calmness, for her thoughts were full of the life to come, and hopes placed on he Father in Heaven. Death had no terrors for her. When she felt its approach she sent for me, as I was absent attending an invalid. I came and remained constantly with her until she left us for a better home. Her last words were addressed to me. Perceiving that she was dying, I seated myself in the room, and was soon in a state of spiritual clairvoyance. 

With the opening of the inner sight the painful scene of mother’s death was changed to a vision of glory -- beautiful, angelic spirits present, watching over her. Their faces were like transparent snow. I could feel them as material, and yet they communicated a sensation I can only describe by saying it seemed like compressed air. Some of these heavenly attendants stood at her head and some at her feet, while others seemed to he hovering over her form. They seemed so pure, so full of love, that it was sweet to look at them as they watched the change now taking place in my mother. 

I now turned my attention more directly to my mother, and saw the external sense leave her. First, the power of sight departed, and then a veil seemed to drop over the eyes; then the hearing, and next the sense of feeling. The spirit began to leave the limbs, and they died first, and the light that filled each part, in every fiber, drew up toward the chest. As fast as this took place the veil seemed to drop over the part from whence the spiritual life was removed. A ball of light was now gathering just above her head, and this connected with the body. The light left the brain last, and then the silver cord was loosed. The luminous appearance soon began to assume the human form, and I could see my mother again! But oh, how changed! She was light and glorious, arrayed in robes of dazzling whiteness, free from disease, pain and death. She seemed to be welcomed by the attending spirits with the joy of a mother over the birth of a child. She paid no attention to me, or any earthly object, but joined her companions, and they seemed to go away through the air. I attempted to follow them in the spirit, for I felt strongly attracted and longed to go with my mother. I saw them ascend, till they seemed to pass through an open space, when a mist came over my sight and I saw them no more.”

Orange Sky Orbs: A Retrospective (Part 7)

The Orb Circled Their House

 Below is an 1871 newspaper account of an encounter with a mysterious orb, reported in the Marysville Daily Appeal, Volume XXIII, Number 24, 28 January 1871:

"The strange appearance was seen in the orchard adjoining which the house stands. It was at first like one of the India rubber balloons which we have often seen in our streets, with a brilliant light inside, by which the ball was illuminated, showing all the colors in distinct rings. That ball of light moved around, sometimes in one direction and then again in another; sometimes ascending higher than the top of the surrounding fir trees, and then coming to the ground again. Two or three times it changed its form, and, instead of being round and variegated in color, it suddenly took the shape of a fiery brilliant star. Two or three times it disappeared as if going into the ground, reappearing again in a moment at exactly the same spot....When the ball of light came near it the animal uttered the most unearthly screams of fright and ran away....The entire party, though they had not before manifested anything more than curiosity, were of course, greatly startled by this denouement and rushed recklessly into the bouse, nearly carrying the door off its hinges, one of them exclaiming, 'My God, it is as big as a lion!' Just as it had done on the former occasion, the ball of light then made a circuit of the house and taking a straight line, ascending gradually, it disappeared in the distance."

Orb Shows Up for the "Out-of-Body Experience" TV Scene

 The TV series "Mission Unexplained" that can be watched on HBO Max is a well-done series concentrating on first-hand accounts of hard-to-explain experiences, delivered by named witnesses. I was watching today one episode in which a witness described an out-of-body experience in which she seemed to float above her body. As the event was described, I took out my camera, to see whether I could get a mysterious orb. Just as the TV show was starting to depict the out-of-body experience, visualizing an observer floating above his own body on a bed, I did get something unexplained in the right corner of my photo, as shown below. 

Early in the next episode I watched, we get a witness describing a huge mysterious orb he saw with his unaided eye. He says it "was gargantuan" and that it "illuminated the entire atmosphere."  Episode 7 of Season 1 of the series has a named witness saying he saw "this ball of light was absolutely the brightest thing in the sky by magnitudes." He says it made a 90 degree left hand turn, and that this repeated numerous times. 

One episode of the series depicted an account of someone on a naval ship seeing a ghost. While the guy was mentioning seeing a transparent ghost, I took a few pictures, and got the transparent orb below:

Paranormal Displacements?

 While sleeping I normally wear earplugs at night during the winter and early spring, so that I am not woken up by the sound of a radiator heating the room.  Last night I awoke to use the bathroom, and while using the toilet I noticed that one of my earplugs suddenly left my ear. As I am very nearsighted and keep the bathroom light off at night, I could not see where the earplug had landed.  In the morning I turned on the bathroom light and saw that the earplug was in the sink, near the drain.  I cannot account for its arrival at such a location. Even allowing for a roll of the ear plug down the bowl-like sink basin, there was about a 10-inch gap between where my body was and the edge of the sink. It was just as if some invisible hand had plucked the ear plug out of my ear, and dropped it in the sink. 

At about 12:30 PM today (a few minutes ago) I heard a very distinctive "clink" sound coming from the bathroom. I went to investigate, finding what we see below. I had not left the tooth paste in the position shown, but on the right rim of the sink. No one had been in the bathroom for more than an hour, and during that hour I had been in the adjacent room, writing.  A test showed that the very distinctive "clink" sound was caused by the toothpaste moving from the edge of the sink to its center. It ended up right next to the metal unit shown below, just as the ear plug had done, on the same day. Now in this case you can think of a natural explanation: conceivably when I used the toothpaste about two hours earlier, I might have placed it on the rim of the sink in such a way that two hours later the toothpaste might have fallen down to the metal unit shown below. But how improbable a placement would that have required, for there to be a two-hour delay before the toothpaste fell? Seemingly it would have been almost as improbable as dropping a pencil and having it land on its point, so that only the point touched the ground. Again, we have an event suggestive of an invisible hand at work.  

Postscript: On April 6, 2025 at 11:20 PM (a few minutes ago) I again observed something exactly like the toothpaste incident reported above. I was typing, and had been typing for the past 40 minutes, I had not touched the toothpaste in 3 hours, having placed it on the rim of the sink. Again, I heard the same distinctive "clink" sound. Again I found the toothpaste as shown above, which was not how I had left it 3 hours ago. No one else was nearby. Again, we have something that was rather like some invisible hand at work. 

The rim of the sink is shown below. It offers a quite stable surface on which to place a tube of toothpaste, and the bathroom has no window, ruling out a gust of wind as an explanation. Mice have never been seen in the three years I have lived at this location. 

Post-postscript: On April 11, 2025, the same event described above occurred again, with the toothpaste tube falling from the spot shown above, to the center of the sink, with a time gap of at least 40 minutes since the last time anyone had used the bathroom. At this house there are no pets that might explain such an event. 

Post-post postscript: On April 13, 2025, the same event described above occurred again, with the toothpaste tube falling from the spot shown above, to the center of the sink, with a time gap of at least 60 minutes since the last time anyone had used the bathroom.
