Orange Orb Shows Up for the Fairy Magic Scene

Photo date: January 9, 2026. Photographer: Mark Mahin.

I was watching the Netflix fantasy series "Fate: The Winx Saga," a series about fairies with magical powers. A scene showed one of the fairies doing some magic with her hands, as blue energy pulsed between them. I thought it was a good moment to take a snap. The picture showed the mysterious orange orb in the top right of the photo below.

This is the first orb photo I have published with my new Kodak Pixpro FZ55 camera. It seems to be a good camera for orb photography, for anyone with a PC with a USB port. The inexpensive camera lacks any interface for wi-fi connection, so you need to transfer photos using the same USB port cable you use for recharging the camera. That works fine if you have a PC with a USB port.

I have now on this site published orb photos taken with many different types of cameras:

  • Olympus FE-100 camera (CCD sensor)
  •  Sony DSC-W830 camera (CCD sensor)
  •  Sony Alpha a5000 (CMOS sensor)
  •  Sony Alpha a6000 (CMOS sensor)
  •  Sony Alpha a6100 (CMOS sensor)
  •  Sony Alpha a6400 camera (CMOS sensor)
  •  Nikon Coolpix L28 (CCD sensor)
  •  Kodak Pixpro FZ55 camera (CCD sensor)
I don't always use a tag to identify the camera type. But my very many posts with a tag of "full spectrum camera" were all taken with the Nikon Coolpix L28; and my photos with tags such as "A6000 photo" or "A6100 photo" were taken with the corresponding Sony camera type listed above. Most of my photos first published in the past few years (outside of retrospective series) were taken with the Sony DSC-W830, a camera I have had to retire after quite a few years of good service.
