Apparition Clusters: An Astonishing New Phenomenon

The true tale I will now tell is one of the strangest you will ever hear, but it is one that I will back up with very good photographic evidence, both in this post and in many future posts on this blog.

When I first started taking pictures in Grand Central Station in New York City on December 7, 2014, I was hoping to get photos of orbs, unexplained circles of light. I had been getting many photos of orbs in other places, but never before in a large public place where there were many people. I was happy that orbs showed up immediately in my photos at Grand Central Station.

I immersed myself in the activity of taking many photos in Grand Central Station, and at the beginning I would do nothing but look for orbs in the photos. But eventually I noticed more and more frequently some very strange things in my photos at Grand Central Station, some anomalies which were very different from orbs. I would see in my photos strange things such as faces that looked like nonhuman faces, or perhaps misty ghostly-looking faces floating about. For quite a while I treated these as just kind of an interesting distraction, since they did not seem related to my main task of photographing orbs.

Initially I failed to notice just how many of these strange anomalies there were in my photos taken at Grand Central Station, partially because of a limitation of the software I was using. In the IrfanView software I was using as an image editor, you can zoom in on a particular spot of a photo. But once you have done that, you cannot use the mouse to “pan around” the image at a particular magnification. With such an image viewer it is rather laborious to inspect the fine details of a photo, so I didn't do much inspection of the magnified details of the photos I was taking.

But eventually I became aware of just how common these shocking anomalies were in the photos I was taking at Grand Central Station. I slowly started to realize: these photos were teeming with these anomalies. Besides many orbs that could be seen without inspecting the photos at a high magnification, the photos seemed to have many anomalies that I can refer to as apparitions, for lack of a better name. Such apparitions could only be noticed by inspecting the photo at a zoomed magnification.

In many cases these apparitions in my photos seem to be misty figures that are floating about. In many other cases my photos show what I can call transformation apparitions. In some of these transformation apparitions, the photos show a human figure which seemed to be transformed into something else, resulting in a biped figure with an animal head or a head looking like some strange creature never seen before. In other cases of these transformation apparitions, the photos show inanimate objects such as walls or corners or stairways which seem to have been transformed, often morphing to resemble some strange creature or animal. Two photos below show examples of this.

Such apparitions can be found in a large fraction of the photos I have taken at Grand Central Station, whenever the photos showed the station filled with commuters. In a typical photo of this type, I can find five, ten, or even dozens of apparitions.

I will now coin a term to describe this astonishing phenomenon. I will call it an apparition cluster.

I found a photo viewer with a good “zoom and pan” functionality, the Windows Photo Viewer. This made it much easier to examine these strange apparition clusters in my photos. I was curious about when this marvel first appeared in my photos at Grand Central Station. I found that these apparition clusters were present in the first photos I took at Grand Central Station on December 7, 2014.

My experience here is comparable to my experience with the equally astonishing “water face effect.” That was not an effect that gradually blossomed over weeks or months. It was instead an effect that appeared as soon as I started to photograph water drops. Similarly, this very strange “apparition cluster” effect appeared on the first day I took photographs at Grand Central Station, although I did not notice it until later (because I failed to view the photos in a zoomed-in magnification).

How many photos do I have of these apparition clusters? I have hundreds of such photos, almost all very clear photos in high resolution. There are thousands of apparitions shown in these photos.  Altogether the photos show as many strange nonhuman faces as one might see in a Star Wars movie or one of the Lord of the Rings movies.

You can actually find considerable evidence for these apparition clusters by looking at the many photos I have already published on this site with a label of "air orb in Grand Central Station," clicking on such photos, copying the photos into an image editor, and zooming in to look at the details. But rather than asking the reader to do that, let me now present some new photos to back up these claims of apparition clusters, which will be only the first of many such photos I will present on this blog.  The photos were all taken in Grand Central Station in New York.

The first photo is from January 2, 2015. It shows strange apparitions resembling animals.

The next photos are from December, 2014. Here is the first, showing misty apparitions:

Here is the second, also showing misty apparitions:

Below is another photo taken showing the ground level.   We see an orb that seems to have a face, and nearby are several figures. But none have human faces. One seems to have a ghostly face, and one or two others seem to have faces like that of an animal. This also seems to be an apparition cluster.

The photo below was cropped from the first photo I took at Grand Central Station, on December 7, 2014. It shows a bizarre scene showing what looks like strange creatures walking about in a far corner of the station. In the top right corner is what looks like a huge reptilian head. This is apparently another apparition cluster. In this photo we seem to see at the center bottom some luminous apparition rising up out of the floor to touch hands with some strange furry creature to its left.

apparition

See also this photo from one of yesterday's posts, one that shows a dramatic number of apparition anomalies.

I do not claim to understand the nature of the strange apparitions that appear in these apparition clusters. I certainly do not claim to know whether these clusters indicate the existence of multiple spiritual entities. It is quite possible that all of the apparitions are simply manifestations or fleeting representations that are being presented by a single intelligence, perhaps some mysterious power that is trying to signal its existence or demonstrate its power. Such an intelligence could be some deity, an angel, a deceased spirit, an extraterrestrial intelligence,  some mysterious mind from some other dimension, or some other possibility utterly beyond my imagination.

Although the apparitions that appear in these apparition clusters are extremely strange and often show faces that may appear ugly or nonhuman, the apparitions never show any violence or blood. To the contrary, the apparitions sometimes seem to show scenes of tenderness. We should not make the mistake of thinking that something is evil simply because it looks strange or ugly to our eyes.

The specific apparitions in these apparition clusters seem to be of very short duration.  It could be that most of these apparitions last no longer than the length of a camera flash. I have examined a series of a few hundred photographs (taken during a 90 minute period) that showed a long series of apparitions appearing at one particular spot in Grand Central Station, although the content of the apparitions seemed to change from one photograph to the next. But I have some photo sets that seem to show the same apparition persisting over a series of photographs taken over a period of several minutes.

If the evidence presented in this post is not sufficient to convince the reader that these apparition clusters are a genuine phenomenon, don't worry. I will be presenting in the weeks and months ahead very abundant photographic evidence to back up the claims I have made here about these apparition clusters.  Along with many closeups, I will be including quite a few large photos that show many details that a reader can zoom in on by loading into a photo editor. This evidence will make some very interesting blog posts.

The reader of this blog will be treated to a mind-boggling tour of the strange and fantastic.

Postscript: As of December 1, 2015, I have put up 65 posts with the label "apparition cluster." If you look carefully at the photos in these posts (which in some cases may require loading them into an image editor and zooming in), you will see abundant examples of the very strange effect I described here.

"Dolphin-head" Orb in Grand Central Station

Photo date: January 2, 2015. Photographer: Mark Mahin.

There are multiple strange things that can be discovered by zooming in on this photo taken in Grand Central Station. You can click on the photo and load it into a photo editor to zoom in.

One strange thing is shown in the close-up below, cropped from the bottom right corner of the photo. We see what looks a "dolphin-head" orb.

Bright Orb Speeds Atop Grand Central Station

Photo date: December 15, 2014. Photographer: Mark Mahin.

Here is a photograph taken in Grand Central Station in New York.

In the middle of the photo, we see an orb exactly positioned between two pillars. Here is a closeup cropped from the top of the photo:

Here we see what photographers call a "ghosting" effect that is a sign of rapid movement. Given the camera's effective shutter speed of about 1/1000 of a second, an effect like this would never be produced by something like the movement of an insect. The orb was apparently moving  much faster than any insect does.

You can actually see three different circles in the photo above, and they make an L-shape. This indicates a sharp right-angle turn, a type of motion that neither insects not dust nor birds ever make.

You can find many other similar examples of orbs moving in dramatic ways by looking at the posts on this blog labeled "inexplicable orb motion."

The Whirling Water Drop Winker

Photo date: November 5, 2014.  Photographer: Mark Mahin.

This water drop photo shows yet another example of the orb centrifuge effect, in which orbs seem to rapidly rotate around the outer edges of a water drop. You can seem to see a face in both of the rotating orbs, although the one on the left is faint.  See this blog's post labeled "orb centrifuge effect" for 26 other photos of this amazing effect.

7 Photos of Blue Orbs Lurking Behind Lights of Grand Central Station

Photo dates: miscellaneous, December 2014.  Photographer: Mark Mahin.

Quite a few times I have photographed orbs positioned exactly on top of the lights at the top of Grand Central Station.

Below is one such photo:

And here is another, in which you may see an orb peering down at the commuters below:

Stunning "Double Loop" Orb Motion in Grand Central Station

Photo date: December 8, 2014.  Photographer: Mark Mahin.

In this photo taken from a balcony at Grand Central Station (where there was only clean air in front of me),  there is an orb at the top and a very unusual shape near the bottom:

The photo below is cropped from the image above. It shows a shape I have never seen before in a photograph -- a weird "double loop" shape floating in the air. It looks almost like a lasso with loops on both ends of the loop. If you look closely, you will see it is not a single object. It is an orb or orbs that are moving in this astonishing double-loop shape. This type of shape rules out possibilities such as dust, hair, or reflection. Dust never has such a shape, nor does hair, nor does a reflection.

A Swarm of Orb Faces, With One "Blindfolded"

Photo date: December 20, 2014.  Photographer: Mark Mahin.

In this unaltered water drop photo showing pure clean water, we see a whole mess of orb faces. The most interesting one is the "rainbow-faced" guy who seems to have a mysterious black line across his eyes. For lack of a better term, we might call it a "blindfolded" orb.

"Laughing" Orb Next to Christmas Wreath

Photo date: December 27, 2014.  Photographer: Mark Mahin.

The photo below was taken in Grand Central Station in New York. On the left  end of the picture we see an orb that is exactly positioned on top of a US flag. I have shown this type of "selective positioning" many times in my orb photos. For similar photos, see the posts I have labeled "orb selective positioning."

On the other end of the picture we see an orb next to a Christmas wreath. Click to see the photo at its full resolution.

Below is a closeup of the brighter orb on the right.  We seem to see a grinning face.

Weird Column of "Veils" Observed in Water Drop Photo

Photo date: December 17, 2014. Photographer: Mark Mahin.

In the book "The Orb Project" by Miceal Ledwith and Klaus Heinemann, PhD, it says this on page 46 about a rare effect when photographing orbs: "Occasionally objects that resemble graceful drapes of fine cloth appear in attractive formations."

I seem to have captured just such an effect in the photo below, which was taken when photographing water drops. It shows an extremely odd anomalous effect that I am for the moment labeling as an "orb veil."  We certainly seem to have a "formation" here, with 3 nearly identical mysterious objects bunched up in stack.  They almost look like a row of strange creatures extending their arms.

Below is a closeup of the top left. We seem to see 1 or 2 mysterious eyes.

Cute Orb and Speeding Orb at Grand Central Station

Photo date: December 8, 2014.  Photographer: Mark Mahin.

Now here is a photo cropped from the top of the above photo (I used the "Auto-adjust colors" menu option of the IrfanView program on the cropped photo). Notice what seems to be a smiling face:

Here is a closeup image cropped from the bottom part of the photo:

moving orb

I believe this is an orb moving at high speeds (something that is shown in many photos on this site). The orb has made a sharp high-speed right-angle turn, producing what photographers call a ghosting effect (caused when an object exceeds a camera's shutter speed). This shows that it can't be an insect, because insects don't move that fast, and never make sharp right-angle turns. It also shows that it can't be dust as dust never has a shape like this, and never moves fast enough to produce an effect like this.

Orb Following an Orb in Grand Central Station?

Photo date: December 20, 2014.  Photographer: Mark Mahin.

In this photo taken in Grand Central Station in New York, we see two orbs that look as if they are following another orb, with all of them moving toward the camera. We see traces of facial features in two of these orbs, but such features are not clear enough for me to label this as a photo of orb faces.

"Tranquil" Orbs in a Water Drop

Photo date: October 30, 2014.  Photographer: Mark Mahin.

Another photo of a water drop (as always, showing pure, clean water). Sometimes these water drop orbs seem to be grinning like teenagers at a party, but here the two in the middle seem to be just chilling out. Here we see yet another example of the orb centrifuge effect, wherein one or more orbs seem to speed very rapidly around the outer edge of a water drops. See the posts on this blog labeled "orb centrifuge effect" for many similar photos.

An Orb Face Floats in Grand Central Station

Photo Date: December 20, 2014.  Photographer: Mark Mahin.

Below is a photo taken in Grand Central Station in New York.

Below is a closeup cropped from the photo above. We see what looks like a clear face. It's some grinning paranormal cheerfulness.

The photo below was taken in Grand Central Station in
New York.

Below is a closeup cropped from the photo above.

moving orb
This is kind of a borderline face, so I won't label it as a face. The orb does show strong evidence of motion blur, which is a sign that the orb was moving very fast.

See the posts labeled "speeding air orb" on this blog for many more dramatic photos of speeding orbs. You can do a Google image search for "moving air orb" to find many other dramatic examples.

Orb Face Behind Distant Window Structure

Photo date: December 22, 2014. Photographer: Mark Mahin.

In this photo taken in Grand Central Station, we see a mysterious orb behind one of the unusual window structures at Grand Central Station.

Below is a closeup of the orb cropped from the photo above:

orb far away
The orb is blue, and the light triangle (which is not blue) is part of the window structure.  We see only blue in the area behind the open triangle in the window structure. This orb is clearly behind this distant window structure, which was located more than 10 meters from the camera. This shows that the orb is far away from the camera. A photo such as this refutes the orb zone theory maintaining that orbs are just tiny specks of dust near the camera. For lots of other similar photos on this site, see the blog posts that have been labeled "air orb too distant to be dust."

If you look at the top corner of the open triangle, you will see what looks like an eye peering at us. We see other elements of a face, such as what looks like a mouth and a nose.

Having no natural explanation for the more dramatic orb photos, we must consider paranormal explanations.
