A Dramatic Moving Pink Orb

Photo date: October 10, 2014. Photographer: Mark Mahin.

This orb appeared in an indoor photo of a wall, with an apparent size of about a basketball. We see here a photographic effect that photographers call "ghosting," an effect that is an indication of a very rapidly moving object. No flying insects were observed at this location in the previous 40 days. Of course, it can't be an insect -- who ever heard of a pink circular insect? Given the camera's shutter speed of 1/2000 of a second, this could only have been produced by something moving at high speeds -- many times faster than the average speed of a housefly (only 5 miles an hour).

Dust reading: 189/4, Fair. Nearby reflective surfaces: none. The orb was 10 percent of the height of the full picture. No orbs shown in photos taken at same location from same angle soon before and soon after this photo was taken, which argues against any dust explanation. No artificial light was involved in the photo area except the camera flash. There was no possibility of a hair in front of the camera lens, because the photo was made by someone with very short hair.
