In the photo below I took in Grand Central Terminal, we see a blue orb that seems to have a kind of pointy bottom.
Below the orb is something even weirder. We see faintly what looks rather like some strange ghostly face with two eyes and a mouth.

What Shall We Call This Weirdness?
Photo date: January 28, 2017. Photographer: Mark Mahin.
I took the photos below while photographing nothing but ordinary drops of pure, clean water falling against a dark featureless background. On the right we see some striped orbs. On the left we see something that looks stranger than simple stripes. We see what looks rather like microphones with little spheres at the end.
Below is some other strangeness I photographed on the same day.

Night Orbs
Photo date: January 30, 2017. Photographer: Mark Mahin.
Below are three mysterious orbs I photographed last night, each with a different color. None of these was the moon, which was only a thin crescent on this night.
There was no fog, mist, rain or precipitation on this night. The air quality listed on airnow.gov was "good." The pollen count listed on pollen.com was "low," with a rating of 0.1.

Inexplicable Triangles Above Mysterious "Mushrooms"
Photo date: January 29, 2017. Photographer: Mark Mahin.
I took the photo below while photographing nothing but ordinary drops of pure, clean water falling against a dark featureless background. We see two very strange things .At the top is a cluster of triangle shapes. At the bottom are three mushroom shapes.
I have several times before photographed these strange mushroom shapes in drips of water, most notably in the photo below (from this post), showing a remarkable "golden mushroom."

A Pink Sky Orb

Ebullient Enigmas
Photo date: January 29, 2017. Photographer: Mark Mahin.
I took the photo below while photographing nothing but ordinary drops of pure, clean water falling against a dark featureless background. We see what I have hundreds of times previously photographed (as shown here): orbs that seem to have face-like details. In this case there's an odd little variation: lots of the orbs have a kind of bitten look to them, with a "bite" on their left upper edges.

They Looked "Orb-Swallowed"
Photo date: January 26, 2017. Photographer: Mark Mahin.

Was the Orb Casting a Pink Glow?
Photo date: January 19, 2017. Photographer: Mark Mahin.
The photo below shows a speeding orb I photographed indoors. What is very unusual is that it looks rather as if the orb is casting a pink glow on to the white surface to the upper left of it.

Are Orbs Attracted to Lights, Like Moths?
Below are three photos I took at Grand Central Terminal in New York on January 26, 2017, January 18, 2017, and January 13, 2017. Call these orbs the puzzling perchers.

It Was No Danger to the Diners
Photo date: January 26, 2017. Photographer: Mark Mahin.
The photo below shows a speeding blue orb above a restaurant area of Grand Central Terminal. It was no danger to the diners below, for unlike speeding birds, speeding blue orbs do not deposit droppings.
Below is a closeup of the orb, which seems to be pulling a U-turn. This is one of hundreds of speeding orbs I have photographed at this location (see here for 3 videos I have showing them).

Letters Inside the Orbs?
Photo date: January 27, 2017. Photographer: Mark Mahin.
I took the photos below while photographing nothing but ordinary drops of pure, clean water falling against a dark background. We see some orbs that seem to have characters inside them. I can see what looks like an "I," and "A," a "P" and a "4."
On the same day I photographed the weird image below, showing crescent shapes and a strange-looking row on the right.

The Orb and the Mysterious Lady
Photo date: January 26, 2017. Photographer: Mark Mahin.
Very strange orbs (very often speeding or transparent) are only part of the photographic strangeness I get when photographing at Grand Central Terminal. I often also get a very strange effect in which humans may appear with a highly anomalous look. Some examples may be seen here, and in the photo below.
Below is a closeup of the cute figure on the balcony. See here for a similar-looking photo.

Dramatic Drop
Photo date: January 5, 2017. Photographer: Mark Mahin.
I took the photo below while photographing nothing but pure, clean drops of water falling against a dark background. We see a water drop inexplicably filled with striped orbs. These are one of very many striped orbs that showed up in my photos on this day.
I have by now photographed more than 200 striped orbs while photographing water drops, as shown in this series of posts, and another 200 striped orbs floating about in the air, which you can see in this series of posts. In the latter I notice recurring patterns that are summarized in this blog post.

New Video: 40+ Mysterious Orbs Aligning With Flag Edges
I have 51 times photographed mysterious orbs aligning with the edges of flags. Below is a video I created compiling 40 of these photographs. It is best watched in full-screen mode, as you can do by clicking on the full-screen icon at the bottom.

Both Blue Orbs Had a Dark Eye-Like Spot
I took the photos below on January 11, 2017 and January 13, 2017. They both show blue orbs at Grand Central Terminal. Note that both orbs have a dark spot. Was this some type of orb eye?

My Initials In a Drop of Pure, Clean Water
Photo date: January 20, 2017. Photographer: Mark Mahin.
I took the photos below while photographing nothing but pure, clean drops of water falling against a dark background. We see various very strange anomalies. The right photo shows what I have hundreds of times photographed (as shown here): inexplicable face-like details in orbs. The middle photo shows something just as shocking: what looks like my initials.
Below is a closeup of the lower part of the middle photo. We seem to see my initials: MM.

Colorful Sky Surprises

Mysterious Orb Stays Sharp In a Blurred Photo
Photo date: January 23, 2017. Photographer: Mark Mahin.
The photo below was taken in Grand Central Terminal in New York, while my camera had jerked. We see that everything in the photo has that streaked-blur look, except for one thing: the mysterious blue orb in the top left corner, which shows no sign of blurring. I have noticed this tendency in six other photos shown here: even when everything in the photo is blurred because the camera had jerked, an orb may still appear sharp and non-blurred. It is as the mysterious orbs are ignoring the laws of optics, and playing by their own rules.

The 51st Case of a Mysterious Orb Aligned With a Flag Edge
Photo date: January 18, 2017. Photographer: Mark Mahin.

Andrea's Astonishing Anomalies
On her Facebook page Andrea Corsick has some great new photos of the strange things I call orb veils. There is this photo with colors of green and red; this photo with colors of red, blue, and green; this photo with a rainbow of colors; and this photo with colors of purple and green. You may have to login to Facebook before being able to access the photos.

Bosoms of the Ecto-Mist?
Photo date: January 21, 2017. Photographer: Mark Mahin.
I took the photo below with my camera at arm's length, on a night when the temperature was 45 degrees. We see a strange misty thing that rather resembles the breasts of a woman. It looks much rounder than what you see if you photograph your breath. Is it the strange ghostly thing that paranormal photographers call ecto-mist?

Recurrence of the "Slanted C" Pattern in Mysterious Orbs
Photo date: January 19, 2017. Photographer: Mark Mahin.
The photo below shows a striped orb I photographed at Grand Central Terminal in New York.
This is the 11 time I have photographed a mysterious orb with a stripe looking like this one, with a stripe looking a letter C slanted to the right. Below are 10 other examples.
Below is my revised table showing recurring patterns I have observed in mysterious orbs. You can see almost all of the examples of these patterns by opening this post.
