I measure my heart rate in the morning. I use the site here which has a stopwatch gadget. Underneath the stopwatch gadget there is an ad widget: a rectangular block that is designed to display ads. Now, an ad widget is supposed to present different ads each time you go to a web page. And if you press "Refresh" to refresh the page, you will see the ads change with almost each refresh. But almost every time in recent weeks when I have gone to this page, I have seen the same ad: an ad showing a glowing orb above a hand. It's an ad for some company that has nothing to do with mysterious orbs. Today I saw this same ad on two different web sites.
Postscript: I saw the ad with the glowing orb four times today, on three different sites -- which makes six times I have seen the ad online in two days. The ad is for a product called VoltDB, a "fast relational database." That is an extremely specialized product that fewer than 1 in 10,000 people would ever buy. It is interesting that I have spent 0 dollars during my lifetime on the purchase of databases or relational databases. I have never made a purchase inquiry online related to databases. Now, I seem to recall that ad widgets are supposed to have a little smarts, in the sense of showing you ads for something that you might have some chance of buying. But showing me an ad for a relational database product is as futile as showing me an ad for baby diapers. Also, the company that makes this product seems to be a rather new company that is not at all one of the top 50 vendors of database products. We would think that such a small company would have very little money to spend on ads. So why do I keep on seeing this company's ad with the glowing orb?
I tried an experiment of searching for 3 things I don't normally search for, and to see whether it affects what ads I get in ad widgets. After going to the Brooks Brothers site, I found ads for Brooks Brothers coming up in ad widgets of the web pages I visited. That effect can partially explain why today I have got so many cases of the glowing orb ad -- because I visited the site of the VoltDB product today. But it doesn't explain what I originally reported: the same ad (with a glowing orb) appearing "almost every time in recent weeks" that I made daily visits to a page with an ad widget. I made that report before I had ever clicked on the ad, and before I had ever gone to the web site for the VoltDB product (and I had not clicked in recent weeks on any web sites for any computer software products).

Was the Orb Changing Color as it Sped?
Photo date: August 29, 2019. Photographer: Mark Mahin,
The photo below shows a strange thing I photographed near a church steeple. Inside the white box is a closeup of the upper left part of the photo.
This was not at all an aircraft. I neither saw an aircraft nor heard an aircraft when the photo was taken. I've taken photos of speeding jets at night, and such photos always show multiple streaks (each one caused by a light on the jet), rather than a single streak. The anomaly was not anything caused by a nearby street light. There was no such light nearby. I have photographed this church steeple hundreds of times, from exactly this angle, and I have never seen an anomaly like this one in a photo at this spot. What we see is what we would expect to see if an orb was speeding very fast, and also changing colors as it sped.

A Striped Orb
Photo date: August 29, 2019. Photographer: Mark Mahin.
Below we see a mysterious orb that I photographed above my TV set.
This is the 17th time I have photographed a mysterious orb with this type of vertical stripe, stretching from the top center of the orb to the bottom center of the orb. This is one of 28 types of repeating patterns I have identified in mysterious orbs I have photographed. The visual below show shows examples of each of the patterns, and how often I have photographed particular patterns. You can see examples of all of these patterns by looking at this post.

80 Consecutive Photos Showed Orb Holes Only on the Right
Photo date: August 27, 2019. Photographer: Mark Mahin.
I took the photos below while photographing only ordinary drops of pure, clean water falling in front of a black background. On this day I started to photograph orbs that all had holes on their right sides. The next 80 photos all showed many orbs that all had a single hole, only on the right side. Eventually the streak was broken, and I started getting orbs with two holes.
Below is one example, with the holes all on the right:

Confounding Coins
I have had so many unusual-seeming experiences involving coins, I could write a book on the topic (follow the link to hear the Rodgers and Hart song with that title). Last night I saw two coins in front of the couch I was lying. I put the coins away and went to bed. In the morning I sat down at a table two meters from the couch, and noticed a penny in front of the couch. For several seconds I stared at the penny, wondering how that could have got there. I looked at my tablet device for a few seconds, and then looked back at the penny in front of the couch. Now I noticed next to the penny (about 3 inches away) a larger coin: a quarter I had not noticed when I previously looked at the penny. How could I have failed to notice the quarter when staring at a penny three inches from it to for at least five seconds? This is one of very many times my observations have raised a suspicion that a coin can somehow appear from out of nowhere, as an apport.
Postscript: The link I posted was to a song Harry Connick sang in the 1989 movie "When Harry Met Sally." Oddly the evening after posting this, I heard someone on Fifth Avenue say something like, "Living in New York in the fall isn't like walking through the leaves of Central Park, with Harry Connick singing behind you" -- a reference to the same movie and singer.
On today (August 29) I noticed two quarters in front of the couch, just in front of where I had sat on it, when I was alone in the apartment, several hours after I had woke up. They were very noticeable. Could the coins have fallen out of my pocket, unobserved? I tried a test by putting the coins in my pocket, lying on the couch, and moving my body around vigorously for two minutes, to try to get the coins to fall out of my pocket. Neither of them fell.

Return of the Orb Veils
Back when my old Olympus point-and-click camera was working, I used to get many photos of veil-like structures when photographing water drops. The poster below show some of the types I photographed:
I have recently started to get orb veils again, seeing them for the first time in photos taken with my Sony A6000 camera. Below is an example from August 26, 2019:

A Strange "Light Surge" Effect
I've started to notice a strange effect that has happened about 10 times when I photograph falling water drops. After taking many clear, sharp photos of falling water drops during a particular photo session, I will suddenly photograph what looks like a huge surge of light. Here is an example (the background is a black cloth):
The next photo (and usually the next 4 or 5 photos) will look all dark, or almost totally dark. Here was what the next photo looked like after I took the photo above:
Then soon things will go back to normal, and I will continue to get nice, sharp details in photos, like the photo below:
I have seen such a thing happen about 10 times recently. It is as if there was suddenly some enormous surge in the level of light. Having previously taken many thousands of photos of falling water drops with the same camera, without such an effect occurring, I know this isn't just something you should expect when photographing falling water drops. Maybe it's some strange camera issue, or maybe something spookier.
Postscript: It is now September 14th. I have now observed such a mysterious "light surge" happen at least 30 times when I was photographing, with the effect occurring just as I described it above.

Ten Orbs with Curved Stripes at the Top
Photo date: August 23, 2019. Photographer: Mark Mahin.
I took the photos below while photographing only ordinary drops of pure, clean water falling in front of a black featureless background. Look closely and you can see 10 orbs with curved stripes at the top of the orb. I had previously taken more than 100 photos showing mysterious orbs with curved stripes, but all were taken when I was not photographing falling water drops, and all showed only a single orb with a curved stripe. This is the first photo I have taken showing multiple orbs with curved stripes.
This pattern of a curved stripe at the top or bottom of an orb is one of the 28 types of recurring orb patterns shown here.
Below is another example from this day:

Monika's Striped Orbs
On this site I have published more than 600 photos of mysterious striped orbs. Monika Universum is getting the same phenomenon. You can see here a photo of hers that shows multiple striped orbs. The photo here by Monika also shows multiple striped orbs, as does the photo here and the photo here and the photo here and the photo here. In the photo here and here and here we see an orb with a curved stripe, such as I have photographed more than 100 times. In the photo here and here and here and here she shows something that looks the "orb veils" that I have often photographed. In this photo of hers we see an orb "shadow stripe" such as I have often photographed.
Monika has a vast collection of astonishing photos on her Facebook page, which you can see here. Besides very abundant orbs in many colors, the thing she gets most dramatically is ecto-mist. There are 200+ dramatic photos of strange mist-like shapes in her collection, which often resemble animal shapes.
Postscript: Monika here got a photo of an orb "shadow stripe" (like I've got 60+ times).
