Mystery Trio

The photo below was taken in Grand Central Terminal in New York, and shows the West Balcony of the station, where I have long photographed strange-looking sights. In this case we seem to see something very odd: a trio of figures with ghostly-looking heads. What is very strange is the photo shows a number of details very clearly: the detail of the balcony columns, the handrail, the stair steps, and what looks like straps on the figures. But the heads have a weird ghostly look to them.
