Double Reflection Orb Face Photo # 18

Photo date: December 4, 2014.  Photographer: Mark Mahin.

This is one of a series of photos I have done in front of a bathroom mirror. I have used this mirror to create double reflection. The larger water drops you see in the center of this photo are directly photographed, not reflections. On the left and right of these, you see mirror reflections of the
water drops in the center. The plastic object is a container filled with water. There was only one container; the photo shows two reflections of this container.

I am using this technique to create water drop orb face photos of a type that are all-but-impossible to fake (because of the difficulty of accurately faking all the reflections, water motion, shadows, faces, and movement).

First, here is the larger photo (click on the image to see it full-size):

Now for the closeup cropped from part of the photo above, showing many an orb face:

4 Orb Faces in 4 Different Colors

Photo date: December 8, 2014. Photographer: Mark Mahin.

In this photo showing a drop of pure, clean water, we see four orbs that won't win any beauty contests. But at least they display a good variety of colors.

Red Orb Behind Distant Obstruction

Photo date: April 23, 2015. Photographer: Mark Mahin.

The photo below is cropped from the right part of the third photo in this post.  I have used the IrfanView "Auto-adjust colors" menu option on this closeup.

Notice the top red orb. It seems very clearly to be behind the tree branch, which was more than three meters away from the camera. A photo like this is evidence against the theory that orbs are just little specks of dust a few inches from the camera lens. For 15 similar photographs showing orbs behind distant obstructions, see my posts labeled "air orb too distant to be dust."

Return of the Giant Purple Orb

Photo date: April 23, 2015. Photographer: Mark Mahin.

My extraordinary experience on this night is best told chronologically with pictures. Let me give a series of pictures that will show what I encountered. The photos were taken with a full-spectrum camera, which lets in more infrared light than the average camera.

After taking several pictures which showing nothing very unusual, I took this picture of the sky and some buildings at 8:34 PM, which also showed nothing unusual.

But then I took another picture of the night sky at 8:34, and something unusual showed up.  Below is the full picture uploaded directly from the camera. The camera was not pointing at any light.

The picture below was also taken at 8:34, and shows an even brighter purple orb, as well as three large red orbs. Below is the full picture uploaded directly from the camera. The camera was not pointing at any bright light. (This picture in its full resolution with the original EXIF data can be downloaded by clicking here.)

At 8:36 I took a photo of the street ahead of me. There was no sign of any orbs. This shows that it was not some camera malfunction that was causing the previous picture.

At 8:37 I took another picture of the sky, and it seemed that the huge purple orb could be seen again, although not as bright as before.

At 8:38 I took another picture of the sky, and it seemed that the huge purple orb could be seen again, although not as bright as at 8:36.

But a photo at 8:39 showed no such orb. Below is the full photo taken at that time.

But at 8:40 the orb was back again.

But the next photo, also taken at 8:40, showed no such orb.

I then took several photos of the sky, and did not see the purple orb. For example, this one was taken at 8:48.

There was no fog, mist, or precipitation on this night. The air quality was very good because of a stiff wind. Airnow.gov listed the air quality in New York City on this night as 25 (anything below 50 is rated as "good" on this site).  When the air quality is that good, the particle sizes in outdoor air are about 1000 times too small to produce conspicuous orbs in photos.

Dust cannot possibly account for the orb observed in the third photo in this post, as that orb was 81% of the original photo height, and the largest dust orbs are no greater than 10% of the original photo height (the largest dust orb I've ever seen in several experiments with heavy dust was only about 5% of the original photo height).

My experience on this night was very similar to what I described in this post, when I also observed a giant purple air orb repeatedly. As none of the photos showing the huge purple orb were taken facing a bright light, we cannot explain these observations as being the result of lens flare (which only occurs when pointing the camera at a bright light).

The three red orbs shown in the third photo look similar to photos made on this page of the "Orbs & More" site.

An Orb Among the Anomalies

Photo date: March 19, 2015. Photographer: Mark Mahin.

The photo below was taken in Grand Central Station in New York. We see an orb floating amidst some very strange photographic anomalies. There are 3 or 4 that can be discovered by looking closely at parts of the photo, including (on the far right) what looks like a man with three legs.

Weird Wavy Wonder

The photo below was taken in Grand Central Station in New York.

Below is a closeup of the orb shown in the left of the photo.

moving speeding orb
This seems to be a single orb making an undulating motion at high speed. Moving too fast to be caught by the camera's shutter speed, multiple position states seems to have been captured.  See my posts labeled "air orb undulation" for 9 other photos of this type of movement., and see my posts labeled "orb right angle turn" for 19 other equally dramatic photos of inexplicable orb motion.

The Impossible Triangles

The photos I will show below were all taken while photographing nothing but drops of pure, clean water against a dark background. Now there is one thing we should expect to never see when photographing only water drops: and that is triangles or rectangles.  But nonetheless I have got six photographs that show triangles while photographing only water drops.

The first photo is below, from  April 19, 2015.

The second photo is below, from April 16, 2015. This photo shows a strange diagonal line of seven triangles.

The third photo is below, also from April 16, 2015.

The fourth photo is below, also from April 16, 2015.

The fifth photo is below,  from March 18, 2015.

The sixth photo is also from March 18, 2015.

Given that I have photographed countless orb faces in water drops (as you can by my 151 posts labeled "water face effect"), as well as many mysterious "orb crescents" and "orb veils" when photographing water drops, I suppose that I should not be too surprised to see triangles show up also.

Is water some catalyst for weird paranormal effects, just like water is a catalyst for life?
