Pink Sky Orb Is a Sky Puzzle

A closeup seems to show purple features inside the pink orb.

There was no fog, mist, rain or precipitation on this night.  The air quality listed on airnow.gov was "good." The photo was taken in the early morning, when the air is particularly clean.
