Purple Sky Orb Above the Gargoyle

The photo below shows a purple orb floating above a building.  Was the orb checking out the gargoyle on top of the building?

There was no rain, fog, mist or precipitation on this night when the moon was a mere crescent. The air quality listed on airnow.gov was "good," with a rating of 22 (anything below 50 is considered good).
