I first started photography of falling water drops quite a few years ago. So you're kind of taxing my memory by asking that. But if I recall correctly, I was one day testing the degree to which orbs would show up in very damp air. Then one of my photos in such a test showed something odd. So I seem to recall thinking that I should try photographing falling water drops, to see whether I could reproduce the anomaly. I then started getting lots of strangeness from taking such photos.
Interesting! We live in a very humid climate, and do sometimes get a lot of what we assume are moisture droplets in the air, mixed with orbs. The orbs are very distinctive, though, with internal structure that distinguishes them from what may be water droplets. Your photos are fascinating!
