From a Glowing Orb to His Sister's Face?

In my post "They Claimed Permanent Physical Evidence of the Paranormal" I describe some very strong evidence regarding the medium M. Franek Kluski. Experiments involving him were described in the 1922 book "Materialisations-Experimente mit M. Franek-Kluski" by physician Gustave Geley and Albert von Schrenck-Notzing M.D.  The title can be translated as "Materialization Experiments with M. Franek-Kluski." The book is in German, but with the help of Google Translate it is fairly easy to get an English translation of any page.

The authors describe materialization phenomena produced in seances of Kluski, saying that mysterious figures appeared while both of the medium's hands were held by investigators, to rule out fraud.  On page 36 the authors describe a process they used to try to get permanent physical evidence of such fleeting phantoms, using hot wax called paraffin:

"The paraffin casts are obtained as follows: A bucket containing molten paraffin floating on warm water is placed next to the medium during the session. The materialized 'being' is now asked to dip a hand, foot, or even part of its face into the paraffin one or more times. A mold is then immediately formed on the limb, which hardens immediately in the air or when immersed in cold water standing nearby. The organ in question then dematerializes and leaves the glove to the experimenter. Later you can pour plaster of paris into the glove and then get rid of the paraffin by placing the mold in boiling water. What remains is a plaster cast showing all the details of the materialization. We used this method but did not use the cold water to set the molds for simplicity and to ensure control."

Following page 72 we have some photos of the plaster molds that were made using the technique described above. They include the photos on the pages here, here, here and here, showing structures looking just like human feet and hands.  These plaster molds exist to this day.

To try to explain reports of materialization, skeptics often resort to claims of secret confederates popping up from hidden trap doors, an explanation that is pretty unworkable given that most materialization seances took place in private homes where no such trap doors existed, with the effects typically occurring from small corners of rooms that had been well-inspected for trap doors.  In the case here no such hypothesis of secret confederates is workable, since  no such person would stick his foot or hand into molten hot wax, and since the very limbs placed into such hot wax were described as later melting away. We may presume some person helping a fraud would not be willing to sacrifice his foot or hand for the sake of such an effort.

On page 58 we have this remarkable account, which is told by Count Jules Potocki of a session with Kluski on November 20, 1920:

"I asked him if he could see my sister in the 'Astral' who has been dead for 3 years. Answer: Yes. At the same moment I felt a woman's hand gently placed on my forehead, making the sign of the cross there and encircling it with a circle, as my sister always did when she was alive when she said goodbye to me. I recognized her hand, dimly lit, against the edge of the fluorescent screen that lay on the table in front of me. It moved several times before my eyes, and more and more I thought I recognized it. She squeezed my hand, patted my face. I can no longer doubt that it is her hand that I feel. A short time later a glowing orb forms in front of my face and moves away; then she comes very close to my face and to my great astonishment and also to my great joy I notice the fully recognizable facial features of my sister, who smiles at me as in real life. However, she seems much younger to me, about the way she was when she was 25. She died at the age of 54. The upper part of the head is surrounded by cloudy veils."

Strange Sunday

It is often claimed that dreams are just a meaningless jumble of nonsense. But I have quite a few times had dreams that combined complex intelligent philosophical reasoning and precise relevant recall. I describe quite a few such dreams in my post here.

Last night I had another dream with complex subtle reasoning and precise relevant recall. In the dream I was talking to someone, and stated that the problem of explaining morphogenesis is one that scientists do not understand, and that the problem is a hundred miles over their heads. In the dream I stated that scientists have claimed that DNA has a body blueprint, but that this claim is not correct.

The claims I made in the dream are correct insights, with huge philosophical implications. The problem of morphogenesis is the problem of explaining how a speck-sized zygote existing just after impregnation is able to progress to become the state of vast hierarchical organization that is a fully developed human body.  This problem is indeed one that scientists do not understand, one that is a hundred miles over their heads. It is correct that many scientists have claimed that DNA is a blueprint for building a human body, trying to suggest that this helps explains morphogenesis. It is also correct that such a claim is false, as many scientists have admitted, because DNA (which has merely low-level chemical information) has no such anatomy blueprint. You can read a full discussion of this topic in my post here.  That post includes quotes by dozens of scientists and doctors confessing that DNA has no blueprint, recipe or program for making a human body.  DNA and its genes do not even specify how to make any of the organs or cells in a human body, nor does DNA even specify how to make any of the organelles that are the building components of such cells.

After eating breakfast, I observed something spooky. I was typing, while watching a TV show on HBO Max, alone in the room. The TV remote was an arm's length away, to the left.  The TV episode was about one third of the way through. Suddenly my TV screen changes so that it showed the startup screen that you get when you first go to HBO Max. The effect that I got was one that can only be produced by pressing three times a "go back" button on my TV remote; but the remote was untouched by me, an arm's length away. The button is shown at the top left of the photo below:

Again, I observe an effect that is like some invisible hand at work. Similarly, 13 different times I have seen my PlayStation machine mysteriously turn on.

I can speculate about a possible symbolic meaning of this event with a "3 go-back" motif. According to the theory of the nonearthly pre-existence of the soul (suggested by some dreams and near-death experiences as described here), each of us is a soul from some nonearthly realm of existence, and each one of us is merely a temporary visitor to this planet.  According to such an idea each of us will go back to that nonearthly place that is our true home after we die. So conceivably "3 go-back" might symbolize that in three time units I will return to such a nonearthly state of existence. But under such an interpretation the meaning of the 3 is unclear. It might  mean 3 days, 3 weeks, 3 months, 3 years or 3 decades.

Orange Sky Orbs: A Retrospective (Part 5)

Below are some photos I previously took of mysterious orange orbs in the sky. All of the photos were taken in clean, dry air when there was no fog, mist, rain or precipitation. None of the objects photographed was the moon.

My photo below shows a large orange orb (along with a green orb and a purple orb) I photographed at the edge of a park in New York City.

We see below two photos I took showing an orange orb near the same building.

The photo below shows a mysterious orange orb I photographed. If I lived in Florida, I might identify this as a large orange growing on a tree. But there are no outdoor citrus fruit trees in New York City.

More Orb Encounters in Pennsylvania

Anomaly researcher Stan Gordon this week reported the following:

"I have been aware of encounters with luminous orbs or balls of light of various sizes and colors that have been reported since the 1960s. While I often receive information on spherical objects seen higher in the sky that are performing unusual maneuvers, reports of these smaller generally round objects that are extremely low to the ground or in some cases on the ground have been increasing in past years."

First he gives this report:

"On the evening of January 13, 2025, in Clearfield County, a witness had just opened the door to let out the family dog when a very bright round object was observed. The object appeared to be a solid white sphere that was positioned low over some small nearby trees. The object was estimated to be about twenty feet off the ground."

Then we have this report from an unnamed witness that an associate of Stan spoke to:

"Anyway these three objects were sitting there glowing like a light bulb.  They immediately came together to form a single light, much brighter then shot straight up into the sky and were gone in a matter of a couple seconds."

In 1896 the Professor Saw a Mysterious Orb

On November 29, 1896 the San-Jose Mercury reported that a Professor Cross had seen a mysterious orb in the sky, one he could not identify. This was before the invention of the airplane. We read this account in which the writer strangely uses the term "airship" to describe what the witness reports as being a ball of light six inches in diameter:

"To the list of reliable witnesses. already too formidable to be lightly contradicted, concerning the existence of an aerial visitor in this neighborhood on recent nights is added one whose testimony has had great weight with many hitherto skeptical. Professor M. S. Cross, Dean of the University of the Pacific, saw the airship on its flight over East San Jose Thursday night and is convinced that it was neither a balloon, as practical doubters insists, nor an optical illusion, as is urged by more subtle skeptics. The standing of Professor Cross, both on the score of his personal reputation and the position which he holds as head of the conservative educational institution of Coast Methodism, makes his testimony of the greatest weight.

'It was about 7 o’clock when my attention was called to the airship,' said Professor Cross last evening ... 'Of course I  am not prepared to say it was an airship. Certainly it was a light moving strangely through the sky and one for which I am unable to account on any other theory. I was visiting at the residence of Professor Worcester in East San Jose Thursday night. About 7 o’clock Professor Worcester, who was in the yard, called to me to come and see the airship. I immediately rushed out, and by that time Professor Worcester said the ship had moved a considerable distance. We were not able to see any wings or anything of that kind. What we did see was a ball of light apparently about six inches in diameter. It was moving very fast in a southeasterly direction. Its motion was not steady, but it seemed to waver from side to side. Its altitude seemed to vary also as we watched it. How fast it was traveling of course I was unable to tell. It appeared to me to be going very rapidly, and if it was very far distant its speed must have been great. I am confident it was no balloon. It was going too rapidly to be carried by the wind. It was a quiet night, what little breeze there was being, if I remember correctly, from the south, yet this light traveled in a southerly direction. Furthermore, a balloon has a peculiar up and down motion which the lunging of this light in no way resembled.' "

The reported wobbly motion does not seem to match a meteor, which travels in a straight steady path, and typically streaks across the sky so quickly there's no time to call someone inside to come out and see it, with the summoned person being able to see it. And I've never heard anyone describe a meteor as a ball of light about six inches in diameter (a meteor may look about as big as a coin looks at arm's length).
