The photo below was taken in Grand Central Terminal in New York, and shows what I have photographing with increasing frequency: a striped orb. This is the 80th time I have photographed a striped orb in the air (see here for other examples).
Photos of natural particles never show stripes like this. Even if one examines collections of unusual-looking orb photos (such as those on this list), it is rare to see orbs with stripes like this. But I was able to find another photographer who had photographed striped orbs, as you can see in this photo.
