The photo below shows an orb I photographed indoors. We seem to see a speeding orb that has made an incredibly sharp turn. The end result resembles a heart shape.
You can measure the angle of an orb turn. A turn of 120 degrees is not so remarkable -- an insect could probably do that. But once you get to a 90-degree turn (a right-angle turn) you have a turn too sharp for an insect to make. In this case we have a turn of about 70 degrees, a turn way too sharp for any insect to ever make.
