I took the photos below while photographing only ordinary drops of pure, clean water falling against a black featureless background. We see some orbs that each have two holes: a larger hole on the right, and a smaller hole on the left.
We can see the same effect in the photos below. Look closely, and you will more than 20 different times an orb with a small hole on the left and a larger hole on the right.
