Mysterious Triangles

I took the photos below while photographing only ordinary drops of pure, clean water falling against a black background.  We see orbs that all have triangular holes inside them.

We can also see the effect in the photo below, although in this photo the triangles are a little less distinct. In both of these photos, all of the triangular holes are in the top right of the orb.
