On this night we had what is called a "super moon" -- a moon that seems particularly bright in the sky. Not content to let the moon have all the glory in my photos, some mysterious orbs appeared while I was photographing the moon.
Here is the first such photo, showing a moving orb with a "comet tail" above the "super moon."
Here is another photo showing an orange orb in the right corner that appears much larger than the "super moon" which appears in the bottom left corner.
There was no fog, mist, rain, or precipitation on this night. The air quality listed on airnow.gov was "good," with a rating of 46.
