I took the photos below while photographing only ordinary drops of pure, clean water falling in front of a black featureless background. On this day I got an orb pattern consisting of three different parts. The pattern directly preceded (or directly followed, I'm not sure which) a similar pattern consisting of five parts (shown here). Below are some examples of the three-part pattern.
