In this photo taken in Grand Central Station in New York, we see a blue orb that seems to show plenty of motion blur, and that seems to be moving very fast, much faster than any insect. Given the fast effective shutter speed of the camera used (about 1/1000 of a second), a motion blur like this indicates a very fast speed, probably in excess of 100 miles per hour. The orb seems to be speeding towards the camera. For many similar photos, see the posts on this site labeled "speeding air orb."
