Purple Orb Peering Down on the Pedestrians?

The photo below shows a mysterious purple orb that seems to be perched atop a tall building. It's one of quite a few mysterious "rooftop" orbs I have photographed, as shown here.
There was no fog, mist, rain or precipitation on this night. The air quality listed on airnow.gov was "good," with a rating of 38.
