The Two-Part Pattern Sometimes Became Three-Part

Photo date: November 2, 2020. Photographer: Mark Mahin.

I took the photos below while photographing only ordinary drops of pure, clean water falling in front of a black featureless background.  We see a two-part orb pattern that sometimes gets an additional feature at the top, thereby becoming a three-part pattern.  Such a pattern persisted through almost all of hundreds of consecutive photos.
