The Child and the Mysterious Green Orb

The photo below was taken in Grand Central Terminal in New York.  We see a baffling green orb next to a child. I've heard that children can sometimes see ghosts or spirits that we can't see, and that they lose this ability as they age. So we can only wonder: was the child able to see the orb?
