A Good Site For Checking the Authenticity of Photos

The technique called Error Level Analysis is a technique used to detect fake photos that have been "photoshopped."  An easy-to-use site that uses this technique is the site www.fotoforensics.com. It is easy to check out this site's photos with www.fotoforensics.com, and my "Frequently Asked Questions" page has long encouraged readers to do just that.

The easiest way to use my photos with this site is to right-click on one of my photos to get a separate page showing just that photo.  Then copy the URL of that page into the "Image URL" slot on the www.fotoforensics.com site.

I encourage users to put my photos to this test, because 100% of the photos on this site are authentic, and none of them have been "photoshopped" (I have never used any version of Photoshop). The only thing I ever do to my photos is to crop them (reduce their size), or sometimes also make minor color/tint adjustments, using either an "Auto-adjust colors" menu command or a "Gamma correction" reduction.
