The photo below was taken while photographing ordinary drops of pure, clean water falling against a dark featureless background. We see three lollipop shapes. How these shapes could have appeared under such circumstances is a complete mystery to me. The only thing remotely similar I have seen before in my water drop photos are the equally strange things I call orb mushrooms, shown here.
They look kind of like rotifers.
