Complexification of an Orb Pattern

I took the photos below while photographing only ordinary drops of pure, clean water falling in front of a black featureless background.  We will see here a case of an orb pattern becoming more complex. The pattern starts out with a large hole on the left, and two holes on the right:

In the next photo, the pattern becomes more complex. There are now three holes or four holes on the right:

In the next two photos, we clearly see two orbs that have four holes on the right.
