A Pattern Persisting Through 500+ Consecutive Photos

I took the photos below while photographing only ordinary drops of pure, clean water falling in front of a black featureless background.  On this day I got a strange pattern that I might call a "wings above the tombstone" pattern.  The pattern persisted through more than 500 consecutive photos,  appearing more than 1000 times.  Below are some examples:
