I took the photos below while photographing only ordinary drops of pure, clean water falling in front of a black featureless background. On this day (among other things) I got quite a few repetitions of a pattern consisting of a smaller hole or dark circle on top of a larger hole or dark circle, both at the top of an orb. Together the two looked rather like the shape of a snowman, a motif I have seen on other days.
