I took the photos below while photographing only ordinary drops of pure, clean water falling in front of a black featureless background. On this day (among other wonders) I got the two-part orb pattern shown below, which persisted through almost all of hundreds of consecutive photos. At a not very different time on this day, a similar pattern appeared, but with an additional feature (as we see here).
