I took the photo below while photographing only ordinary drops of pure, clean water falling in front of a black featureless background. On this day I got some patterns persisting for almost all of hundreds of consecutive photos. But the pattern below appeared in only one photo. The holes remind me of wind-sculpted pillars like you might see in Arches National Park.
