I took the photos below while photographing only ordinary drops of pure, clean water falling in front of a black featureless background. On this day I got (in almost all of 700+ consecutive photos) orbs with holes that were almost rectangular, except for a curved top. Below are some examples, starting with a photo of a triangular-shaped veil-like structure, one that has a gradient color stretching from purple to green to orange.
